Here's one for ye.
Not being a regular bus passenger but I did hear about the 2 pound bus ticket incentive. I even took advantage one day to go out to a nice county village for a session in a quaint country pub.. 2 pound for a journey which I guess would have been 4 or 5 quid before.
Imagine my surprise taking a bus from the suburbs of hull to the bus station in town, being a wise old but infrequent user I asked for my usual return ticket ( used to be 2 or 3 quid ) "don't do them anymore it's 2 quid single (government price mate) or a day pass which is more than 2 singles" Stagecoach appear to have taken the opportunity to put up prices and then blamed the government.

No bus pass yet then?

I’d assumed they left tickets which cost less that £2 (if there were any) but looks like they’re all £2 now
As I go from Anlaby my prices have gone down, but that looks crap if a short trip within Hull has gone up?

Another example of the lack of joined up thinking. Council car parks are 3 quid a day, 12.50 for a weekly pass. Just about cheaper to use a car to go to town, then you have the convenience benefit as well.

No.
I worked out my own costs and as I said just about cheaper to use the car. And then there are the convenience benefits on top.
Certainly if your car sharing it is.
If there’s four of you even taxis aren’t much more expensive than buses (they are more expensive but not enough to make a difference for a night out rather than an everyday commute)
