2 questions:
Who said those things?
How did they result in more taxes?

Carbon tax effectively increases price of power produced by coal. gas oil etc and hence wind becomes cheapest when it isn't - on top of that UK system means producer gets paid highest price on grid at any time - hence we all pay through the nose for green energy

Do you think that it’s bad that we pay higher tax for using using fossil fuels and polluting the planet?

As has been pointed out, this is a thread for jokes.
I found it highly amusing when my energy supplier tells me all my electricity is supplied through renewable sources.......
And then blames rising gas prices for the increase in price. Laugh? I nearly cried.
And when challenging the standing charge for electricity, I pointed out I live about a couple of miles top from the Creyke Beck substation. Possibly a reduction for living more or less next door to it, as opposed to someone living a hundred miles of network away? No. Funny that, innit?

But this bit will make you piss yourself....
The UK government, since 2015, has awarded 60 billion quid in support to renewable energy sources. And it isn't the tooth fairy that left that amount of cash under the chancellors pillow. Any idea where or how that money comes from?

And, dah, dah, boom tish, the punchline. They gave fossil fuel companies 80 billion in the same period.

Just love the light hearted banter on here.
