It's also 'valuable' to a number of other companies

Medical Researchers can already request information through various channels, this just opens it up much further. There's been some misinformation but going on previous use of our data I'm not fully convinced

I don’t like the fact it’s ‘ pseudonymised’ rather than actual anonymised (it can be reverse engineered to find your personal info not just mass data for research.)
I also object that they aren’t making money from drug companies that will make a fortune by using it. No issue with that as an informed choice for a pandemic, for example, but as a matter of course it smacks of backhanders for access to our extremely valuable info
 
Has anyone been able to obtain their own records from a GP?
I tried once and they were reluctant.
I had an issue 20 years ago and still don’t know what the details were.

I'll go with, ‘I have no objection to the ethos behind it. But people have a right to say yes or no because once your data goes to NHS Digital, you have no say in what happens to it.'

I'm in favour of using anonymised data for research but I'm not convinced data is secure once it leaves the NHS and stored on third party servers. I think they need to be more selective in who they release this information to. See 'so who will see your files?'

If you sign up to NHS on line, your medication and test results go on there

You can get most of your medical history online, just sign up to Patient Access. I get my repeat prescriptions through this also.
