I would if I was still there ... I am now living and working in Jordan (the country) ... I moved here over two years ago. If I was him I would get a sneaky flight out of there. They take this sort of thing very seriously. As for the workers rights, don't get me started. Deaths while working is still high with heat exhaustion exit visas needed and keeping passports, living conditions etc.

These are mostly agency workers and that is the problem (Agency) Many unscrupulous. When I worked there I looked after my guys gave then extra from my own pocket and made a great team, many times I visited where they lived and sat and had food with them, not by any means perfect but better than most. I have many friends who worked there as agency workers they told me many horror stories about how people where treated. I still get really pissed off the the world cup is still going ahead.

Don't get me wrong I loved working out there. I remember my first day on site and I have a picture somewhere on a thermometer and it read 56c I thought what the **** have I done. 50c is not rare... 40c is very normal.

    Sorry for the rant.

There's Brits out there that have received lashes.
Apparently the wife is now saying she accepts his protestation that there was no affair.

yeah, I suppose if you live out there, you have to respect their laws.
does the same apply if youre on a tourist visa?

It does if you are on a business visa. I have on friend and his then girlfriend who worked with me. They had to live in separate houses. I certainly wouldn't like to test the system.

Whilst the majority of this post should make any normal person angry, the bit about "I am now living and working in Jordan (the country)" made me chuckle.

Jimi Hendix, one of your favourites, got paid the most of the acts which appeared at Woodstock. Without googling, any idea who got paid the least?

Some cracking bands on that list, must have been some festival to have been at. I know there are some on this board old enough to have been there but did anyone go?

First one I went to was Bath 1970.
