I saw a young person in Blackpool walking up and down the street holding her phone in front of her. I asked her where she was heading, she said to Stanley Park. I said it is not the way, that is towards the Irish Sea. I pointed in the correct direction and asked is she needed directions, she declined, and again headed off in an incorrect direction, but not towards the sea. I suspect she had neglected to choose "on foot", and the phone was following the one-way system!

I was once in Blackpool on business, with a colleague from Italy. We had a successful morning and decided to have a Chinese meal to celebrate.
We did the sights along the front, not knowing Blackpool too well. He enjoyed them, as his home was Lake Como I was surprised, but it was different, in every conceivable way.
Time for scran and we were on the south side of the Tower, where there was a convenient taxi rank. Into the taxi and I asked him to take us to the best chinese restaurant in or around Blackpool - full fare, plus a tenner tip. 2010 ish, so decent deal.
He drove us about 500 yds to the north side of the tower and pulled up outside a chinese restaurant, when we burst out laughing and the full pledge was paid.
Still the best chinese meal had anywhere in the world.

Amazon Shipping must have the most accurate data. And today the courier duly followed it exactly. I received a message "your package was left in the mail slot". No it wasn't.
Give it a few hours and ring the help line. Yes, I have the exact coordinates. It looks like another street at the back pf your house. I will send you an email with them. Yes, please, rather that than trying to explain tenfoots to a non- Yorkshire lass.
Accurate? You better believe it. The courier had to walk 100 yards down the tenfoot and given the choice of two side by side six foot gates, chose the correct one.

The dopy ******** had driven past house after house all complete with front doors, numbers and "mail slots" and finally arrived at a garden gate and thought, "oh yes, this is the one". Brilliant satnav system, shame about the stupid **** using it.

i was once at a bus stop (1984ish) on anlaby road, to the west of the flyover, when a lorry driver stopped and asked for directions to swinemoor lane!

he could have done with satnav, but waiting for that would have delayed him longer.

i hope my cut-down directions got him close enough. i should have asked for a lift to town and directed him from ferensway.
