I Had a look the other day. It’s been an embarrassing defence. Costing the taxpayer however much. Don’t know how their lawyer( who was rebuked for laughing during the trail) dare pick up his pay check.

It will, apparently the judge jailed someone last year for 3 years for banging on a police car window (trying to break it) which left the officer inside fearing for his life.

Yeah. Clearly the shock had hit home as she held it together during the incident.

Yes but according to the scumbag who did it, he didn't realise it was a woman. If that's his best defence I hope he brought a big suitcase with him to court as he ain't getting out soon..... hopefully.

The whole case probably hinges on the initial police approach at the pay machine. My understanding of the law is ,and was, that the Police had a duty to announce themselves and their reason for wanting to speak/arrest you?(There could be circumstances where they don't need to but I'm not overly sure)?

The other bone of contention could be the kick in the face and stamp on the head at the end?

Personally I think the 2 of them are guilty as charged but I'm not on the jury.If found guilty and again only an opinion, it can only be a custodial and if the judge believes they've wasted Court time going to trial,he could hand out a stiff sentence as an example to others not to assault armed police officers.

There’s going to be hell on if the judge shows any leniency

They're clearly guilty, but the case has definitely been weakened by the police not announcing themselves and by stomping on the bloke's head (even though he deserved it). I expect the judge will hammer them, but it obviously needs the jury to find them guilty first.

The jury have now been sent home for the weekend, the judge will sum up at 10.30 on Monday, then they'll retire to consider the verdict.

Would these mystery assailants be the ones dressed in police uniforms carrying visible firearms?

Wonder if they got legal aid,a K.C wouldn't be cheap...

Talking of legal aid,the estranged husband of Nicola Sturgeon(Peter Murrell, who's been charged with embezzlement in respect of the missing £600k party donations), QUALIFIED for legal aid and his bill is currently hovering around the £400k mark...Disgusting!!

P.S,just been reading the Brother's Barristers(Chloe Gardner) closing speech in the Manc Evening News..She's left nothing out there and ripped the plod to bits!!!

I’m ashamed to say I pay for the guardian and they’ve not done a piece on this since the 4th July
    I’m considering sacking them off

Plus one of their main columnists has just done a piece about Islamophobia
