That's been the case since it was launched almost twenty years ago, all Land Rover cars are promoted as Range Rovers, except for the Defender (though they're all actually still badged Land Rover).
They used to be the Land Rover Range Rover Land Rover Velar Land Rover Discovery Land Rover Defender Now they are promoting the land rover range by their model names rather than the brand name. I'm not even sure if any of them have the land rover name on them any more.

The Range Rover Sport has always been called the Range Rover Sport, it was never called the Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The Velar was launched as the Range Rover Velar, never anything else, same with the Evoke. The Range Rover may well have been called the Land Rover Range Rover when it was launched fifty years ago, but none of the models outside of the Defender have been for the past twenty years. They still have a Land Rover badge on the front grill and usually on the wheel centres as well.

All correct, however my 24 plate Range Rover has Land Rover centre wheel caps and a badge on the front grill with Land Rover on it! Still evolving!

About time really There were too many similarities between Jags and Range Rovers We ended up with a F Pace (which was superb and extremely reliable…which sounds unusual) but test drove a Velar and it felt like exactly the same car! (Think it was the same chassis at the very least?)
It matters not to me who started it,nor will it change a single thing. The only fact worth recognising here is that there are a huge amount of people out there who are unhappy with their lot at this point in time,I'd include myself in that and I duly signed,others won't as they see no need or reason,that's fair and reasonable.
