What's depressing but also encouraging is the claim that 80% of the plastic in the ocean comes from 1% of the world's rivers. Gives some hope that they can achieve something meaningful.
Where is the 1%? No doubt the eco warriors will complain it is all down to the UK and we should close our rivers down,
They didn't state that explicitly but it went on to say they were working in Bangkok so you might take that as a clue!
The worst are the Yangtze, Xi, and Huangpu rivers in China; the Ganges in India; the Nile, Cross in Nigeria; Pasig in the Philippines and the Amazon in Brazil, we don't have a significant issue with plastic in waterways here, ours are just full of ****e.
