    I'm in the same position with our cat, although less expensive! She's 20 now and there won't be another.

    I’m in the same position with the wife, although (a lot) more expensive. She’s 60 now and there won’t be another.

    Ye, the UK has always been the best place to import farm gear, engineering parts and animal feed from previously, due to decent availability, competition, range, good customer service and cost (I used to buy engine parts from a company in Swanland, coincidentally) - unfortunately, since Brexit kicked in, it's become a paperwork nightmare with extra costs, plus things getting stuck in the customs holding bay - so many UK companies have stopped exporting to Europe or it's no longer cost or time effective to buy from. Shame.

    EU pet/farm feed is the best in the world as it has to be from animals or crops that are suitable for human consumption, so of a much higher standard. Animal and pet feed in America, for example, can be made up from condemned animals/diseased crops etc, as they have lower standards of regulation.

    If you buy pet food from Denmark, it’s subject to U.K. VAT on arrival, so what VAT the EU charge is irrelevant.

    Doesn’t matter
    Bizarrely it originally comes from Canada!

    Either way owning dogs seems to be killing the planet as well as my bank balance!

    Have you tried Aldi?

    Their packets of corned beef smell and taste just like 'Chum':emoticon-0103-cool:

    I guess it depends what is written on the export docket - UK vat laws are complex - food for commercial animals (working dogs, livestock etc.) is vat free, but for pets and wild animals it's vat relevant... To import something that much cheaper from Denmark (20%), I'm assuming that they're getting it into the UK Vat free... Maybe Dennis's dog is classed as 'edible' by the Danish seller.. ;
