I'm sure Rafa will have final say on Lascelles, he is captain of our club and Rafa has done that for a reason. yeah he was immense towards the end of the season and he has been pretty good for the majority of this season, but if Chelsea want him, it's either a no, or they will have to wait.

I would think keeping Lascelles, getting promoted and having a good year in the PL next year would be most beneficial for all. Say we finish 10th next year and lascelles has had a stormer and called up to the England squad, £18m starts to look very little. Keep hold of him, not just for his ability on the pitch, but for the mental attributes he offers off of the pitch and his stock will rise, if Pogba is worth £89m and Stones is worth £50m and sissoko 30m then Lascelles could be 30m+ too.

The association in AFC was originally intended to distinguish clubs from those playing other "Football" sports such as Rugby Football, the United as in Newcastle United denotes a club that was formed from two or more separate clubs at it's inception and they do not use the AFC designation, just FC.

Nothing more than they did not have United in their title , probably saw no need for it as their results were showing the were in fact united , other teams came along that were not so successful and felt they needed to show that even if it was not evident on the field they were in fact playing together hence the addition of United to the title
