Botha got fined less than the Wednesday fan. They should have got time. The Wednesday fan wasn’t found guilty of racism, that was thrown out. I wonder if we will ever see a request for a banning order of a City fan thrown out?
Look the Geordies have built this aura of magical go anywhere fans from their success over about 20 years and the more the press and tv extol how wonderful and avid they are the more they play up to it - and they love themselves - I almost excuse them co s they are Nth Eastern - way above the maudlin scousers.

Can’t recall requests for banning orders on City fans being dismissed. Even in cases where fans didn’t even go to court.

Of all the fans of top teams that I've ever come across, Liverpool fans (who hail from Liverpool) appear to be the least high and mighty about their team. Many of those maudlin responses feel more like an extension of the self-deprecating humour embodied by scousers in general. Talking of which, I've just read an article written by a Leeds fan who describes his team as 'Yorkshire giants', and discusses their plans to buy Kelleher from Liverpool.
