That cauldron of noise that the Geordies are known for is more of an MKM tonight , same for lots of teams when losing at home . Bowen’s very good !
Bowen played a blinder, I can just about see Omur doing something similar for us if TW would let him.
Bowen and Ömür might be similar in stature but physically they’re miles apart. Bowen in his first few years at City was lightweight but his technical ability made up for it as defenders couldn’t lay a glove on him and he was in great form. At some point, he clearly bulked up a bit and his upper body strength added to his low centre of gravity and took his game to another level. Ömür’s clearly got great technical ability too but he’s in his mid-20s but still has the physicality of a teenager playing youth football. He’s also in poor form right now and lacking confidence so he just gets bullied in most Championship games.
And yet when Omur first arrived many thought we'd unearthed a jewel and some were saying we'd punt him on for a fortune? I thought he had a bit of class and I can't understand how or why he's become so ineffective in such a short space of time. He needs to be used for his skill in carrying the ball. He's a tricky player at this level and I'm still pretty convinced that there'd be other teams in this League who'd relish the thought of having him on their books. He's the type of player who could lift us out of this mire we're in but he ain't no winger?
No,I realise you weren't calling him bad, more of a general question as to where we're going wrong with him?
"An attacking midfielder or right winger". Scored 0 in 31 for us. Nil in 48 here and in Turkey in the past 2 seasons. Nil assists this season. And we're expecting......? Go on lad, prove me wrong, starting tonight. Not that I'd start with him anyway, technically gifted as he might be
He should play down the middle and be paired with Puerta and any other mobile player who doesn’t leave him to do it all .
Yes,I think he's looked a bit better in the last couple of games.I think he's far better in a central position though and it would allow us to mix the game up a bit instead of being so one dimensional? Sheff Weds will be sitting looking at how we play and the fact we shift it wide,if we can variate our play against the opposition tonight and going forward, we'd become less easy to suss out.It was fair enough getting it wide early when we had Belloumi and Millar as they both had the pace and skill to cause trouble on the wings but we're a bit more limited now(Although Kamara's not short of a trick or two).
Probably not,he seems stuck in his ways but I've got everything crossed in the hope that we can get something out of tonight...We need to.

My beef with Tim is I don't think he is getting the best out of what he's got because his ****ing "system" keeps getting in the way.
Isn’t it a problem that so many stubborn managers exist on some level , I would bet Robbins and Cooper were frustratingly stubborn on some levels - like Mcann , Bruce etc
