It was the scoreline that the late, great Eric Morecambe always used to joke about but had never come true - until now.

East Fife 4 Forfar 5 was the much-loved comedian's idea of the ultimate tongue-twister for anyone trying to read out the football results.

On Sunday, that result finally happened for the first time in the fixture's history - sort of.

The Scottish League Cup Group B tie between the sides went to penalties after a 1-1 draw. And the score in the shootout? East Fife 4 Forfar 5.

luxembourg have now won four of their last seven games, including three in a row. alas, portugal have put 15 past them in two games this year.

luxembourg are currently ranked 94th and liechtenstein 192nd of 211.

luxembourg are third of six teams in group j and have won half their matches.

An interesting article in the Times, Alex Bruce saying his dad is keen on the Ireland job. One other snippet was apparently John Walters stole money when he was a young player from another teammate when he was at Blackburn, It just came to light it was Alex Bruce who he stole from. He paid it back, was going through a tough time privately, so all finished amicable and credit to Alex he never let it be known publicly. This info came from Walters himself, apparently.
