A GoFundMe page was set up today, to raise money to pay the staff and players at Scunthorpe, it’s raised £22k already.
I coughed up earlier, many of their fans threw money in the buckets/blanket at BP in 1982, just sad that I've had to return the favour.
FC Massive forum seem suicidal at the moment. I have some sympathy, just some, as they have just imploded. not looking good
You can sneer at Wednesday, and I do as my dislike of them is on a par with TWS, but when you read concessions in their equivalent of the West Stand. are £48, yes £48 for someone retired or very young, and tickets on their Kop End are £40+ depending on the category and they still get over 20,000:every game whilst we have people moaning at our low prices then their support is good. And you can bet that Sunderland, another club some of our fans sneer at sold out for a Friday night game with tickets over £40 whilst we took less than 900 to Stoke on a Saturday. I have said before a Wednesday fan I know comes to City with some mates of his who support us and he can get a train from Brid, a ticket behind the goal and have 3 pints for less than it costs somebody living in Sheffield who walks to the match.
As most are living under severe monetary pressures these days, I’d recommend you advise him to change his allegiance . It makes financial sense. He’ll thank you in the long run, especially considering the paths the two clubs appear to be on. And, before you ask, I’d personally rather watch city in 4th division than the piggy’s brothers in the top tier.
Given his OSC tattoo and that of his dad who will be about 75 or older I do not think they will follow your advice, Must admire his old man who has lived here for decades and still has a Wednesday season ticket at great cost compared to ours and still travels over to their home games. Puts to shame some of ours who complain about prices less than half ours and find excuses not to go and moan about our far lower prices.
I am sure he would tell you the same.,Which is why they were getting, larger home crowds in league 1 than we were in the Championship at about double our prices. You are always on about severe monetary pressure. Doesn’t seem to stop people taking holidays, often more than one. Get ready for articles about record crowds at Hull Fair.
Just so I am clear... Rules of piss taking 1) check attendance. Only if you have a superior attendance are you allowed to laugh at another club. 2) pay more for your seat
I do apologise if I go on about severe monetary pressure, I really didn’t know that I did. I may have mentioned it in one or two posts, but it’s a fact of life at the moment. I don’t make it as an excuse for myself, as I am in a fortunate position, I do attend games home and away, and don’t judge others who maybe don’t/ can’t for whatever reasons. ( that said, I hate Hull whites, reds, blues and generally do look down on these sad inadequates) . We generally all have a common bond on here, being Hull City fans. I do try to make the majority of my posts just lighthearted observations, as I find if you post an opinion, there’s always someone trying to either label you, or turn it into an argument. I really don’t have time in my life for such dalliances. For your information I really don’t give a flying £@@k which club is most expensive to follow, or who has the biggest attendance. I’m happy to see our stadium thriving again, and have a chairman with real passion . Enjoy the game today, however you absorb it.
