See Cannon is playing for Wrexham today. Promoted if they win. 2-1 up.

Paul Mullin was the hero as Wrexham sealed the National League title and a return to the Football League after a 15-year absence in front of 10,000 jubilant fans.

Wrexham's 3-1 win over Boreham Wood sparked a joyous pitch invasion, with the club's owners - Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney - tearfully hugging in the stands.

Star striker Mullin took selfies with the celebrating fans who poured onto the pitch at full-time.

Manager Phil Parkinson led the chanting of 'We Are Going Up' from the stands, after what he had previously described as "15 years of pain" in non-league football.

Actors Reynolds, McElhenney, and Paul Rudd - pictured drinking in local pubs with fans before the crucial match - joined in the celebrations.

Fans spilled onto the pitch with red flares at the final whistle and the rain-sodden trophy presentation had to be delayed as fans were requested to leave the field.

When the trophy lift did take place, Wrexham players sprayed champagne around as Queen's 'We Are The Champions' played out over the PA system.

"It's an amazing feeling," said Parkinson. "I feel so emotional after what the club has been through in the last 15 years. I am so proud of the performance and the fans."

just been looking at the tops and bottoms of some of the english leagues.

in the national league north, all but four teams have one game left, next saturday. there's a game on tuesday and another on wednesday.

the title is yet to be decided. afc fylde are a point behind leaders king's lynn with a game in hand. chester are safely 3rd.

the teams in 2nd-7th play-off for the second promotion place.

the teams in 4th and 5th have 68 points and play each other next saturday. the teams in 6th and 7th have 67 points. any of these teams could fall out of the play-off positions.

the team in 13th (of 24) is darlington with 64 points. they can still make the play-offs!

Wrexham looks like a bit of a circus in all honesty. Eventually they will hit a ceiling, might be league 2, might be league 1, maybe even the Championship. Will be interesting to see what the "stars" do when they get bored, and they will.

Think I've read they've already made a pretty hefty loss

3m. I was thinking there was another 0 there!

Point still stands about them getting bored though. Once they've flogged the Amazon TV series to death and the yank public move on to something else

I agree. Think I've said on here before that there will always be that doubt in the back of my mind. Seen it all before.

It's a nice little story at Wrexham (if you're into celebs and all that), but it's the only reason they're back up

Near where I live some Sheffield Utd fan popped into a mates shop to by some beer for the journey to Wembley. Asked him if he was a blade then got cocky when he said he was a Wednesday fan. Anyway to cut a long story short 5 mins later he found a Match ticket on the floor.
