It might be a ridiculous fee, but ‘half a good season’? He was named best player in Argentina ahead of moving to Benfica (and being given Eusebio’s number), before winning the World Cup (and being named young player of the tournament).

Well being the best player in Argentina doesn’t really count for that much. Wonder how many in the last 20 years who’ve won that accolade have gone on to be world beaters? And yeah half a good season. The half a season he played at benfica was good. Don’t know what you’re failing to understand about that? And he had a good World Cup. One tournament. Certainly wasn’t the best young player for my money though. Just got caught up the one Messi **** feat.

I never mentioned him being mediocre, nor did I predict how he would do. Simply stated he’d had half a good season. I always avoid getting into anything with you whenever you’re being a know it all, because you’ve got your little empire set up here. But you really are an argumentative saddo

Leicester chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has cleared the club's outstanding £194m debt to parent company King Power International (KPI).

The club owed the amount in loans to KPI, which is owned by the Srivaddhanaprabha family.

A debt-to-equity transfer to KPI was completed to relieve the club of its outstanding debts.

A handful of non-league football fans have been praised on social media for making a 400-mile (644km) round trip on a weekday evening to watch a 0-0 draw.

Brackley Town travelled to Scarborough Athletic on Tuesday for a 19:45 GMT kick-off in the National League North.

The fans who came from the Northamptonshire town were also treated to a free pint from Scarborough chairman Trevor Bull.

Brackley fan Guy Smith said the fans were "gobsmacked" by the gesture.

The 54-year-old, who travelled from Bicester in Oxfordshire, said: "It was really kind of the Scarborough chairman and we all really appreciate his kindness."

He said the supporters were delayed as part of the M1 was closed and it took almost four hours to get to the ground.

Mr Smith said he got back to Brackley after midnight, dropped two fans off before eventually driving home.

Twitter account Football Away Days posted a photo of nine of the Brackley fans in the stands, describing them as "heroes", which has been widely shared.

If he got back to Brackley just after midnight, which is what he said, he either left at half time or needs a speeding ticket!

haven’t watched this in many years, but just a few seconds in is perhaps where old man Allam got his inspiration. That Tony Gubba is a right twat.
