It wasn’t the Tigers they wanted to change. Unless your are thinking of Harold Needler who in 1946 wanted to change the kit to orange and blue with the 3 coronets as the badge and rename the club Kingston Upon Hull A.F.C.( Dr Allam would’ve had a breakdown over that long name)The resulting uproar saw him back down but he didn’t like stripes and changed the kit to plain amber shirts. The first programmes for Boothferry Park featured the proposed new kit. Wonder what our nickname would have been if it had gone ahead? please log in to view this image
The English Football League has lifted the transfer embargo on Championship strugglers Cardiff City. The move follows Cardiff paying the first instalment of the £15m transfer fee for striker Emiliano Sala, who died in a plane crash en route to joining the club in January 2019. The Bluebirds are no longer on the EFL's list of embargoed clubs. Global governing body Fifa has yet to confirm whether its separate embargo has also been lifted. Fifa imposed a transfer embargo for three transfers windows following Cardiff's refusal to pay the first instalment of the fee they had agreed for Argentine striker Sala. Cardiff had insisted Sala was not officially registered as their player. They lost their appeal against that ruling by Fifa at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne in 2022.
The Football Association is investigating suspicious betting patterns during Arsenal's FA Cup third-round tie with Oxford United. The investigation concerns an incident involving an Oxford player during Arsenal's 3-0 win on Monday at Kassam Stadium. The League One side said they are "aware of a specific allegation of irregular betting" around the game. They added: "The club will co-operate fully with any investigation."
Hopefully the owner (or new owners) will be able to come to an agreement, there's very little money to be paid back to the tax/vat man if the club folds.
No more rent boys chants to be aimed at Chelsea, their players or ex-players. FA can now charge clubs over homophobic chant usually aimed at Chelsea players and fans https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64241443
You're spot on!! Better to try and work a way through it rather than ending up with the sum total of naff all? Maybe we could have a whip round, obviously using our debit cards as cash is so old fashioned nowadays..
