Don't think that's worthy of rep, it's more difficult to not wind him up.

Whatever the popular thoughts on the replacement for Saffa were, I cant help wondering why Arry Redknapp was never mentioned!

If United end up walking the league again you may all be glad we only got third choice ;)
Wonder where Jose will end up, no commitment there yet even though Real announced some days ago he will leave at the end of the season.

The consensus is that he was offered the job formally on 8th may in the evening. He was sounded out before as was Klopp, JM, Carlo, Pep etc.

PS Question to United fans: Saffa said he told his sons ans wife at Xmas that he was off: when did he tell the Glazers?

Perhaps this is true. If it is i suspect its because they were a little apprehensive about succeeding the best manager ever. Probably an ego thing. Big risk of tarnishing past glories not living up to SAF.

Moyes of course doesnt have that worry, which maybe makes him the perfect fit. If he fails we will just hire someone like Mourinho ( he would be succeeding Moyes not SAF ) but if he does well then brilliant.

Manchester United named David Moyes (pictured above) as its new manager on Thursday, a day after Alex Ferguson announced his retirement.

    David Moyes
    .
Moyes, who has spent the last 11 seasons at Everton, had been widely tipped to be his successor, despite never winning a major trophy as a manager. Highly recommended by Ferguson to the United board, Moyes will join Manchester United on July 1 with a six-year contract.

"When we discussed the candidates that we felt had the right attributes we unanimously agreed on David Moyes," Ferguson said in a statement.

Fergie isn't exactly going to say ' welcome David Moyes, 3rd choice' whether you believe it or not.

So what you're saying is, neither side has evidence that either Moyes was first choice or Moyes wasn't first choice. So that means you win?

    Makes sense. <doh>

Someone asked for a linked quote, i provided one, can you do the same to refute it? or does it just make you feel better to believe otherwise.
