Quality post mate. Looking at the table so far, I would say that averaging 2 points a game will guarantee us that second spot. That's a big ask, better than anyone in the league has managed so far (Coventry averaging 1.97) but I think it's possible. Incidentally we've averaged 2.06 since boxing day, so it would just mean maintaining that for. 6 wins from our last 9 or 5 wins, 3 draws and a single loss.

All of our fixtures are winnable, though we're unlikely to win them all. I'd put Southend (A), Shrewsbury (H) Bristol Rovers (A) in the ones that should be certain. If we slip up against those, We're likely a playoff team at best.

That leaves us chasing 9 points from Accrington Stanley (H), Peterborough (H), Burton (A), Blackpool (A), AFC Wimbledon (A) and Rotherham (H).

If we can be ruthless and see of Accrington and Wimbledon we're left needed 3 points from Peterborough, Rotherham, Blackpool and Burton.

Our last 3 results are not disastrous but another 3 like that will be. But if we go into each game knowing how much more important 3 points is than just "not losing" at this stage, we'll be ok I think.

Auto is still on the cards like and I think we can get it but got a funny feeling it's going to be the playoffs

Whilst we’ve had a good run since Xmas, 2 points from the last 9 sees us in a bit of a rut.

And with 2 away games to come, I’m becoming a tad concerned. No away game is easy and as we are in a rut, I’m not expecting us to win both, tho we really have to.

My prayer mat is coming out the cupboard.

Promotion is Anyone’s and we have as much chance as the other sides in the mix.
We have stunk the place out last 3 games though which isn’t ideal.

Lots more twists and turns till the end of the season , not long since Oxford were written off now they are third in the league , we have some winnable games coming up , win them and we can still upset a few apple carts . The players and supporters need to stay strong and focused but need not make silly mistakes . Everyone was downbeat after recent games but the last three have been against the most in form sides even Gillingham have lost only 1 game in the last 17 yet we were a minute away from beating them - fine margins . Get behind Phil Parkinson and the boys and who knows Haway the lads !!!

Good post and basic common sense.

I'm sick of people endlessly bleating about the manager and players ...

... they're all we have so cheer them on ffs.

Nothing can change now and the manager will choose his team based on attitude, training, fitness, etc ...

... it may not always be the team we want but it's our team in red & white shirts so that's good enough for me.

If we fail to give our best support, we've failed and can't have too much to say if the team fail.

    I don't think we will.

It's canny nuts how tight it is like, 3 points between 2nd and 8th. And while I do think it's Coventry's to lose, every other team that's created a gap at the top this season has fallen away so still time for Cov to get dragged back in. Hope they do like, would be wild going into the last day with such a small gap between the top eight.

finally being able to watch the games has been brilliant, when all i really had to go off was posters on the forums it seemed all was lost back in august...i honestly think gooch needs a break, maguire maybe not starting but on from the bench, this is not a criticism by the way, both have been very important players and both give everything for 90+ minutes but i think it is taking it's toll on them, add 09 in with them as well but can we afford to 'lose' three players at once from the recent starting eleven?
still not struck on power/dobson central partnership (although i was just having myself a dig at dobson when he won that ball and played laffy in for the goal) as i think power needs to impose himself more in games, he has been solid enough though...in fact it would be hard to name a single player who has not improved in recent games, ozturk takes some stick but the bloke does what is needed, clear the ball and gain time to get organised, flan is another but at least he is getting onto the end of corners, if only he could finish better.

play - offs will be the least we get i think, but after a recent blip i hope we can push on again and clinch an auto.

Gooch definitely needs a rest, although the whole left side has struggled the last few games. Gooch, Hume and Flanagan.
