Lots of reports all over the place about Mr. Ecclestone having asked the teams to consider 11 December for the inaugural Indian GP, as originally posited by Adam Cooper. Here's one from Autospout. 'Twill require significant rearrangement of people's schedules because the FIA F1 prizegiving event is due to take place in India in the week before that date. I suppose they're banking on Vettel wrapping up the WDC and Red Bull nailing the WCC long before December.
Following today's decision to reinstate the Bahrain GP, which is under discussion here, we now know that the Indian GP will be moved to 11 December. The Indian race organisers may welcome this as it gives them more time to complete work on building the circuit. The staff of the F1 teams most certainly will not welcome the news and it will have a big effect on their lives and their families' lives. Ross Brawn has already called it "unacceptable" and I expect other team managers feel the same. This will surely cause a problem in the coming weeks and months.
India wants a grand season finale, apparently, and you might not be surprised, looking at the photos F1Times published today. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Its not really that far off, is it? Theres already some tarmac down, and the stand looks more than half complete. They'll be ready.
seems like the guys will have less time to get it finished after all. - hope they remember to paint grid marks, and tarmac the pitlane.
F1fanatic is reporting that the FIA have confirmed India for December 11th. "Let's say that it's official at the moment". Pardon? How can it be official if the teams haven't agreed to it? The FIA really aren't making themselves look very good are they?
Not at all. Off-topic and not worth discussion in itself but on top of the complete mismanagement of Bahrain, India and next year's calendar, it's been reported today that Toadt wanted to give Hamilton a six race ban for his comments after the Monaco GP. That man is in the wrong job.
