Hi everyone,

Just wondering if any of you have had the pleasure of reading An Epic Swindle by Brian Reade? I finished it yesterday and I think it is a fantastic read. It reveals some truly appalling facts about Hicks and Gillett's reign, as well as some comically stupid things that the pair of them did. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I haven't read it yet, but it is on my list of things to do (finally reached 3,000 pages long).

They thought Steven Gerrard was gay because he said he had a partner, but due to them being ignorant they didn't realise a ''partner'' can be female. As he was then engaged to Alex Curran.

Got my copy on order, in fact, it should be there when I get home from work today. Not going to read anymore of this thread as it might ruin the book...lol

I already did,Tom Hicks thought Steven Gerrard was gay because he said he had a partner,It proves hicks was pretty stupid not realising a ''partner'' could also be a female, and he probably thought that Stevie's partner ''Alex'' was a bloke too not realising that ''Alex'' could be short for Alexandria.

I don't mean to nitpick but it was the other way round! Hicks was the one who had to tell Gillett how it worked. Hicks actually seemed to be relatively intelligent compared to Gillett, who was just completely nuts. Good riddance to the pair of them, I shudder to think where we would be now if they were still here. Would we even exist right now?

I got it for my dad's birthday tomorrow. It's been sitting there all week but I couldn't read it cos then it wouldn't look new. My ma loves Kindle but he has to be old skool.
