How many failed attempts in Europe have Arsenal had now? Here's a reminder ''Nayim.....from the half-way line''.
How many failed attempts at the premier league have you had? Here's a reminder, 'I want to talk about facts'
Well at least we didn't blow a 4 goal lead against Newcastle.Hold on,who was that again? Or we never had a manager banned for accepting bungs either,Now who was that again?
We beat them 3-0 at Molineux, you crazy mofo. And as for us not being in the champions league for 2 years in a row, it's a fair point, but I'd still take our position over yours. You seem to have stagnated, while we are only going to be better next season, I actually wouldn't be surprised if we finished above you.
Well at least one of our ex players isn't an alcoholic, junkie gambling addict that talks **** on live tv.Now who did Merson play for again?
You would prefer 3rd to 5th with a weaker squad? To each his own I guess. KPR, we both could go on for days but I just cannot be bothered.
But is the gap that big between our two teams in all honesty, you'll probably say it is, but I'd say it's closer than most think. And it's not just about the two squads, it's the fact we have owners who are seemingly willing to spend big to achieve success in the sporting business (before you say "you said the same about the last owners", it's simply not true, there were many doubts and questions from fans about them right before the 2007 window), we have the King back, our club has a sense of unity and we're all moving in the same direction and we have a crop of very promising youngsters coming through. At Arsenal there's just bad vibes around the club, you've got uncertainty over the summer, Wenger claims he doesn't want to spend much and doesn't know what the budget is while some players just don't seem interested in fighting for the club, your captain and chief playmaker wants a move to his boyhood club and there is doubts among the fan base creeping in about the once untouchable Wenger.
If we can add much needed flair to our side,we'll be a match for anyone. We already have that overall brute strength that Arsenal lack,we've a far stronger underbelly than Arsenal dut of the top 6 they have the softest underbelly. For all their flair they are spineless.Liverpool will be a completely different proposition when they add flair.
You do have a point Reina that we are staying in the same position whereas you are moving up in the world, however I am not so sure you are moving as quickly as you think you are. Only time will tell i guess.
It looks like Arsenal are going to be no better next season than they currently are if todays reports are to believed.Wenger says he doesn't need to spend big.Well even Stevie Wonder can see that he does.As I said before Arsenal need about 4 brutally strong players. They need to brute strength to go with their obvious style. If Wenger doesn't do this, expect yet another trophyless season next season.
Contentious, I know, and probably a minority opinion. Maybe he wouldn't have gone but he claims to love Liverpool, and does, but Rafa loves the club as much and had to be shoved out the door. Alonso had Real cash to run to. I'd say Rafa had to put up with more from H&G - Klinsmann, anyone? - than Alonso did by being put on the market, the market which decided not to make any offers over ã12m. I read another excerpt from Brian Reade's book today in which Gerrard and Carra do a bit of hand-wringing over not speaking out about H&G. It would certainly have helped Rafa and shut up a few people who refuse to take H&G into account when judging Rafa's achievements at Liverpool.
Muppetfinder. I don't think even that would have saved Rafa. He shot himself in the foot when he went on that long winded attack on Ferguson. He didn't rant.Even though some would make you believe that he did.Ranting in my view is when you spout gibberish that makes **** all sense.Rafa was clear and concise, and even Dermot Gallagher said he was spot on with everything he said. But the problem is,that it was long winded.Ferguson actually ranted and yet this was never scrutinised. When he made his ''Contempt and beyond the pale'' speech. Now thats pure and utter gibberish.Rafa should have taken a leaf out of Kenny's book, and kept it short and sweet and painful. It takes less time and it does the job.
That is actually a very good point, Rafa got roundly critcised for negotiating a move to Juventus last season when it looked as if he was going to get pushed out of the door by Purslow who disliked him anyway, but the very same people who criticised him for negotiating with Juventus were backing Xabi Alonso's decision to leave and used the fact that his boss tried to replace him with someone inferior as justification for leaving, even though the EXACT same thing happened to Rafa. Damn hypocrites.
