Arsenal has succeed in transforming itself from a big club with a small stadium to a small club with a big stadium.

As for United, they're not in a black hole of debt, their debt is manageable, and is currently causing them no on field problems. The board and directors aren't the only useless ones, Wenger can enter with them, he's the one that plays the team, the one that buys average players, the one that persists in playing average players, and the one that makes ZERO tactics or adaptations during games. Why should we blame the board for that toothless performance at United when it was Wenger that clearly sent them into that game with no game plan?

Arsenal87 and Kyle, I think it's best that you ignore each other, as you can't argue without insulting each other.

Right, as it's like talking to a brick wall, i'll do this slowly.

    A) ManUre's debt is growing, it may be manageable now, but come FFP they're going to be knee deep in ****.
    b) Wenger is manager, he doesn't buy players on his own, he needs to OK things with the board, they have the final say. Thats why we didn't get Mata, Wenger wanted him, the board didn't.
    c) His tactics are a bit weird, i'll give you that one.
    d) We did better against Utd than we did last year, surely that's a positive?

Well he's the one using the low blow arguments of questioning someone's supporting credentials, and saying stupid **** like I want Arsenal to fail, any sane person with a working brain will admit that that's just bat **** stupid talk. Yes, I'm not a real supporter, I just want Arsenal to fail, that's why I go to all home games, that's why I flew to Milan to watch us, that's why I went to City, Liverpool, and on and on, I do all of that because I just want us to fail and because I'm not a really good fan, according to the guy who doesn't go to either home, or away games, right......

We have 60+ ml in the bank NOW. And do not spend it. What makes you think our philosophy will change when the stadium will be paid? Kroenke is not a sugar daddy, he is not even a fan, just look at the clubs he has owned, they are all mid table. We are being turned into an American franchise - a sport ENTERTAINMENT where silverware means nothing. What means is full stadiums and sold popcorn. Optimise performance to maximise cash flow. NOT the other way round.

    A) FFP aren't set in stone, there are ways around it, and there's no guarantee it will even be properly implemented.

    B) Wenger got the approval to buy average players like Santos, Gervino, and Squalachi to name a few, did the board force him to buy those players? Does the board force Wenger to play an average Ramsey week in week out?

    D) We did better against United only in scoreline, not performance, as EVERYONE HAS AGREED, if United properly took their chances, the score could have easily been 5 or 6-1. Our performance against United was one of our worst toothless performances in a long long time as most people agreed. I don't see any positives from our game against United, that game simply typifies everything that's wrong with Wenger and his players.

Sorry for not being a multi billionaire, and not being able to afford to go to every single game, but I do what i can. Thats the aim. I've damn near bankrupted myself paying for the swansea game tickets. I consider that support. Putting the team before common sense.

    1. The FA have confirmed FFP will be implemented.
    2. Santos is a brazillian international, Squillaci was excellent in spain, Gerv was brilliant for Lille. How was Wenger to know they wouldn't settle too well.
    3. At least we didn't ship 8 goals.

    1) The FA's confirmation really means f--k all, and I think many will agree, let's wait and see when it's time, until then, talk is talk.

    2) Djoure is an international for the Swiss team, and that means?

    3) We didn't ship in 8 goals, yet we still lost, and the defending was hardly any better than we got defeated 8-2, the only difference was that United weren't clinical in finishing because our performance was so toothless it even took United off their game!

More to the first point, you really think a club as United will go into the FFP era unprepared? If you do, you're extremely 1) naive, 2) and very optimistic. Yes, it will be tough with their current numbers, but if you think they don't have a plan to work it out, then as I said, you're naive and being very optimistic.

In response to the OP,when i first started supporting Arsenal they hadn't won a trophy for 14 years. It would be another 3 years before they would win a trophy which was the Fairs Cup.The year after the Fairs Cup we won our first double but within a few years we were fighting a relegation battle.I had to wait 8 years between the 1971 double and our next trophy which was the FA Cup in 1979.I then had to wait 8 years for our next trophy which was the League Cup in 1987.I waited 17 years between 1971 and 1989 for a league title. In my Arsenal supporting life i have seen us lose more finals than we've won but my support has never wavered and there is no way i could support another team,A lot of people take the piss out of Man Utd fans but i know a lot of their fans who carried on supporting their team through relegation and a 26 year wait to become champions. If you can only support your team whilst the're succesful then as far as i'm concerned you can **** off and take your plastic glory hunting support elsewhere.

Well it's the definition of spoilt. If you asked the queen to live on a council state, she would be devastated. If you ask someone who used to live on a council estate but now lives in a palace that they have to move back to the council estate, they'll be annoyed, but they could cope. In Arsenal's case, some people are used to failure, some are not. If the one's who are not used to it had lived through the 70's and 80's then they'd probably be the same as you. If you'd been born later, you might find failure harder to take.
