If we are waiting on a work permit for Jemal then it just gives another example of how the club has changed to be more professional. Under previous regimes a transfer would be announced before a work permit was granted.

Pahars and Delgado being memorable examples

Jaidi was a few weeks short of his UK Citizenship so still needed the WP, same as Papa Waigo as they both got the WP pretty much the same time as eachother

Anyone seen his Twitter? Two weeks ago, he was saying 'thank you to my supporters' (in French) and somebody has replied 'come back soon' - this would tell you he's on his way somewhere... but where? I wonder if Adkins and NC had met up with him in Switzerland behind closed doors, whilst the squad was out that way for pre-season two weeks ago. If that was the case then this deal may have been going on a while just like the De Ridder one seems to have done.

Well that French article was written a week ago today when it said all that needs completing is the medical. It obviously doesn't take that long so either the deal is off or theres a paperwork problem.

He will need a work permit - as a Tunisian playing in a non-EU country he would have no right of entry; never mind a work permit. Had he been playing in an EU country for the past few seasons he would have had little problem - you may recall that G de P was loaned across without problems because he had been playing his football in Itlay for sometime - I seem to recall that his only issue was getting his wife into the UK because she did not have the correct papers.

He has over 20 caps which will help a lot with work permit - Liverpool had a problem signing Mark Gonzalez a while back because he hadn't hit 20 international games yet which is apparently part of the criteria?

you need to play like 1/3 of all international games within a two year period. Not official, but it's what they tend to go on.

According to someone on Twitter, he's very close to signing. (read it on saintsweb)
