Agree Northy. I can't see anything more than short-term reassurance in there.

To me, it says that he's here for the season and then he'll be off.

He also explicitly states it's out of his direct control so must be a shareholding issue.

Unless there's something already agreed between TF and LM then I don't think 66% is enough for an enforced sale (75% + if I remember correctly). That would mean Mittal pulling out.

Most business people look at their interests (shares in a concern) as projects with a beginning, middle and end. The end being a profitable sale of shares.

If that's the case with Amit, then the optimum time to close the project would be when the club is an established prem force with all the trimmings (including new stadium and a following to fill it and pay the bills).

I've been a minority shareholder before - and it friggin' hard to bale out unless the controlling interest sees fit to buy. Other than that not many outsiders would buy a minority holding UNLESS the dividends were consistently worth the investment.

If he leaves before the new stadium is built hopefully tony will get them to commit to some cheap steel.
I agree with Matt, why reference how many games into the season we are if you're planning on being here for years?

"Haha, thank you all for your concern. I'm very much alive and have no plans of going anywhere anytime soon. "

i think we can all stop the panicking now. The lanky streak of piss was wrong yet again but he doesnt care about that, all he wanted was people to talk about him at the clubs expense.

Everyone who has posted on the subject has interpreted Amit's words Secret.

I am prone to reading too much into things but he does overtly say that there will be a time when he'll leave (not worth mentioning if it's not a realistic possibility) and that it'll be out of his hands.

In response to Brix, I agree it would be tough to sell under normal circumstances but we're talking about a cash rich (from what we've seen and are lead to believe) who completely buy into TF's vision and so presumably would love complete autonomy over the running of the club. A market value (plus bonus) after the new TV revenues are paid would seem like the optimal time to make a move that both parties could agree to.

He's said that he's not going anywhere any time soon. That could be 6 months, it could be 10 years. So you can continue to be concerned and pick apart every quote from Amit, but then you'll have ulcers by the time he does bail out.

But I'm sure it will happen eventually. Mittal intends to finance the Indian Olympic team, Amit was also involved with that. And I'd hope that when he does move on that ALL fans will understand and say thank you, as I'm sure any true fan will understand that for the Mittals, trying to do something good for their country would naturally come before QPR. But we owe Amit so much and I'm sure he'll leave on good terms.

But he's ours now so lets just enjoy a good season and stop worrying.

In a bleak sense Sooper, 99% of posts that aren't an OP (the bringer of genuine info) are all opinion, speculation and banter but we still all willingly do it. :(

AS i said in an early post that it was a load of old b###### made up by attention seeking muppets. Can't believe how so many of you actually thought Amit would just 'up sticks' after everything he said only 10 days ago? <doh>
