Shola can be THE most frustrating player at times. But seeing the fear in the Mackem's faces when they see him running onto the pitch is worth it.

Been a great asset to the club and has stuck around despite being down the pecking order most of the time. Loves the Toon and seems to be a great character to have around the dressing room. As others have said, I think he's now only really up to being an impact sub, but I wouldn't want to see him leave.

He'll still be here when he's old and grey for Derby day.

Thanks for the compliments about my new AV :) I was going to put it up earlier than I did but I was a bit sheepish.

I have strongly backed Shola to score a hattrick since he scored one in the very first game of my very first season ticket holding year (The Championship)...

Sadly, this means I haven't eaten in a while... Pull the finger out Shola!

Shola is mis-understood massively. Pardiola is managing him perfectly and because of this, he has a massive role to play for us. As a starting player, he is not much cop. I think even he would admit this when compared to Ba and Cisse. As a forward coming off the bench, using his strength to hold up the ball in the corners and run down the clock, I'd be hard pushed to name a better forward in the league at doing that.

He is also an excellent penalty taker and is world class twice a season against the mackems.

I realised just how much attitudes had changed to Shola about 3 months ago while I was watchign a Toon match inthe pub. About 15 minutes left, we were looking a little shaky. I said to no one in particular "Time for Shola", and there was a general nodding of heads. He's now the safe hands/feet we turn to when we to see out a nervy few minutes - - Keep Calm and Think of Shola.

To be fair to him he has earnt the turnaround through consistent performances, that he has never produced in his whole time at the club. I've never rated Shola bar early before Souness/Roeder screwed him. Indeed I believe he was actually detrimental to our play for long periods of his career here. He is one of the laziest individuals I've had to endure in my time watching Newcastle. But you have to credit him last season regardless of his previous. He found a niche role as the guy to bring on for the last 15-20mins to make the ball stick and put himself about. I don't really think I can remember him doing the job badly to be honest.

The better strikers we have, the more we get from him. I think he takes it as a challenge.
