It's the price we are paying that is the problem. By October it looks like my bill is going to have increased by about 200% in about less than 12 months. Where are people expected to find another 200 quid a month?
If everyone stuck together and kicked say Eon into touch with in a month no one would be paying an extra £200 a month, but nobody will do,bollocks to them pay your extra £200 or freeze.

No such thing as minutes on a phone contract anymore mate, all that is pretty much unlimited. It's the Internet data they charge for these days as most people rarely make a call these days.

ahh right....i have never had and never will have a contract, i just get a 'hand me down' phone usually from my son and go PAYG.

they wont, many years ago i used to spout off about how we do not actually own anything and how certain things were not lawful and got the old 'tin foil hat' jibes when i tried to warn people...suffice to say i gave up and now i have seen much of what i said come true.

legal and lawful, first step is learn the difference and if more people took the time to read about it, learn how to tell the BS from fact (and i do agree there is a lot of BS) and start to follow the paths then they may well consider doing something about it but people are far too comfy and far too scared they might not have a brand new car while holding their brand new mobile phone while booking their next big holiday abroad.

On that last point, it is mind blowing to see how much some people live on borrowed cash. Mortgages, car loans, or leases, credit cards, holiday loans apparently now (!!), store cards, payday loans and all the rest.

Bloody hell, I've had a mortgage but that's about it for me. When I had nee cash, we more or less waited until I did. I must have been doing something wrong!

Mind, I can't see interest rates heading anywhere other than up for a bit now, so I'm pleased I'm not sweating on that.

they are all the same mate. Today the company I have worked 12 years for and I leave this week announced that in the first quarter they have delivered revenue of £943 million, a 16% growth . In the last 12 months they have acquired telecomms companies bringing in another £17m. The bastards took 10% off my salary during covid, I was a key worker, and I never got a penny of that back
They must have took around £2500 off me. On top of that I have company electric vehicle which I charge at home and they give me back my business miles. Prior to the hike, I was getting 4p a mile, after it I was getting 5p. My bills go up by over 200% I get 25%. We then get a 2% wage rise when inflation was around 6%, that is in fact a wage cut.
If the company reaches a certain target within 3 years following the aforementioned acquisitions, the CEO gets a bonus of £5.6million.He has robbed me and others to ensure he gets his bonus
I dont ever expect these big companies be bothered about the people they employ nor the people they serve.
That sounds very much like the company I work for and will soon be leaving

Different times mate. We live in the "must have it now" generation - no more saving up for things, it's instant demand, instant gratification and worrying about it later.

Holiday loans is a terrifying and ****ing ridiculous thought - if you don't have the money, don't ****ing go on holiday!

yup, same thing happened after the last time tories had a good few years in office back in the 80's...loads of new buyers encouraged to grab a 'cheap first time buyers' bargain by the tories, then they whacked interest rates right up and along with the bankers, raked in a fortune.

feckin credit score??? when did that come about, in my time there was no way you could get a loan for anything especially if you went for a car or mortgage unless you could prove you had been in constant employment at the same firm for a good few years (which is why a nice car meant the lad had a good job and was reliable there were few company cars then)...do people never stop and think/wonder just why everyone is so happy to give you credit now?

banks do not give money away for nowt!!
