I'll be grating lemons into GT's from now on ..

As long as too many GT's don't give you the DT's? I still remember that my dad, a Londoner, always harped on about Holland Gin as a sore back remedy, or "touch of the old lumbago" as he would say.

I still still love lemons & limes, and lemon meringue pie is one of my favourite desserts, my best ever experience was in 1986 with a key lime pie (basically a lime meringue pie) served at a yacht club in the British Virgin Islands (definitely not the bright green filling store bought variety of this). I of course had two servings.

Bought 3 lemons this morning, one's gone into the freezer and I will try it out later; will report findings asap.

Interesting. I work in healthcare also. There are always these wonder foods which pop up now and then without evidential research to back them up. Lemon is undoubtedly good for you as part of a balanced, and especially varied diet. But so is garlic, ginger, tumeric etc, etc etc. St Paul had it right 2000 years ago. "Moderation in all things". Do that and you'll not go far wrong.
Do I adher to this advice? Do I F""k !! Although just had a very nice spicy lentil soup with wheaten bread for lunch, Mmmm!:emoticon-0105-wink:

Garlic, fresh ginger, and tumeric are really good for one's health as are lemons, tomatoes, olive oil and parsley. Mediterranean diet etc...
