Annoyingly, I know someone handling Martin Keown's tax affairs. I've spent the whole week asking him to make a couple of typos...
The pundits do my head in on MOTD. The analysis is always so repetitive and half the time it's a load of sh*t. MOTD should still be presented by Linekar as his banter is fairly decent (at times) but replace Hansen/ Lawro/ Shearer/ Dixon etc with glamour models wearing random Prem clubs shirts and thongs (excluding Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham ones - they'd just look stupid in them). Nothing else.
He's been surprisingly good. Even the Scousers that I know have admitted that, though they still hate him, obviously.
Hansen used to be a very good pundit, but he phones it in all too often these days. Graeme Le Saux was pretty good when he was around, but other than NMOTD2 a few weeks ago) he hasn't been seen for years. The best pundit the BBC have isn't even full-time - Martin O'Neill is always a cut above the rest of them when he's brought in for the World Cup or Euros.
The one I enjoy most is Strachan who often gives an interesting and informed technical insight. Not that I watch MOTD is he on there?
Most insightful is G.Nev followed by Lee Dixon. Shaka Hislop excellent when not talking about City or United. Raphael Honigstein is probably my favourite though.
Dixon's probably alright when he's not talking about Spurs but you won't catch me admiting that Did you notice "anti-Chelsea" Townsend sticking up for Cahill when he kicked Hart last night?
He's hardly going to criticise an England player is he YV? We've had this conversation many a time. I still can't believe you think he is pro-Chelsea Extremely. Could never get over the fact we went on to bigger and better things once he left.
I went from wanting to care enough about the PL to watch with interest to completely losing my mind (what's left of it) any time Spurs go behind or blow a lead. What the hell happened?
NOTE: Sorry for the double post--got to stop doing that. They need to get smart, analytical people who understand the game and are willing to work hard to provide fresh insights. There's an NFL broadcaster named Chris Collinsworth who amazes me--seems able to provide new, interesting technical information for three hours every week. Neville is very good. The few others I've had the displeasure of watching play cliche bingo. 1. Select the 50 cliches you're going to say this match. (Hint: they're the same ones you used last match and every other match). 2. Say them at more or less appropriate times. 3. Say good night.
Can I just remind everyone that remembercolinlee OP is about the NLD and a very good post it is. We owe it to him to bring it back on topic. This is not a dig btw as I am probably the most guilty.
