SU were good value first half and we struggle to break them down with a shape that had no sense of purpose. Straightaway from the second half whistle we made two very shrewd subs and changed shape, which SU failed to come to grips with. Aluko played well, I have not argued against that, but he played well against a L1 side that had suddenly found themselves in a totally different game of football - all of our players suddenly found their way, not just one. It was Fryatt who made the runs and led the charge with that opening, second half goal, the rest simply clicked from there - in a team shape they were used to playing in.
Aluko did well, he looked very good, but he doesn't get that sort of time and space on the ball in most PL games and that is what we are talking about. Unless I'm mistaken, we look to him for goals and assists, the half he played in we won 4-1 and he got neither; I know that's unfair, but my point is that, after a two subs, a change of shape and two quick goals, the whole team were galvanised into an improved performance and the world changed for SU. One thing is for sure, I look forward to him finding his class, sometime soon, at the level we are competing in week on week.

Listening to Aluko and his sister on BBC Football focus, it seems clear that his frustration about not playing is because he is still hoping to go to Brazil, and he knows if he isn't playing then he won't be going. A bit of a pipe dream really after how the season has gone for him.
