Altidore to Sunderland - confirmed

    I agree with OLM and Carmine. He was rather disappointing whilst with us (also taking into consideration the massive hype that came with his signature). He was weak, couldn't finish (Manchester City game excluded) and always seemed to want to pass instead. He was only 19 when he came to us and was expected to spearhead us to safety which, by any stretch of the imagination was a mistake. Him and JVoH linked up well but similar to the Jay Simpson problem; he's a striker and his job his to score goals.

    He's obviously strengthened his game since us, improved and matured as a whole and is ready for a 2nd crack at the Premier League. I'm sure he'll do fine at the Mackems and all the best to him.

    Altidore was a diamond in the rough when he played for us. He much going on off the field which many on here forget. One inparticular. Now he should prove his worth if given the service. How long he lasts up there is another thing. ?
