Always loved Newcastle ever since that 5-5 game, what a game. You lot are a good bunch, unpretentious and up for a laugh. As for the game, as a QPR fan, seeing us start to put together the looks of a great team after so long, I'd love to say it will be a memorable win under the lights with our new players running the show. That's my heart speaking. My head is telling me not to get carried away as it won't be easy for us as it will be the first game this team will have played together, 7 new players likely to start and the other 4 still finding their feet. We are certainly have a team that could win now, I'm just not sure they'll be ready quiet yet. I'll go with 1-1, to us?!
Alright lads, hoping for a good game and that we can nick it. Draw would still be good though. I'd put money on Barton either scoring against us (ex player curse always hits us) or going down very softly (you'll notice he does this) and winning a penalty.
I'm going for 1-1. Cabaye from a long shot, or Ba from close ranger. And i reckon Barton will pass to Taarabt who'll curl one in the bottom left corner, after QPR catch Simmo out of position...
One of the best games ever at Loftus Rd. I wanted to go home at half-time ( 0-4 down ) By 4:44 I was screaming & swinging from the rafters in the 'f' block,at the back of the South Africa Rd stand. Good times.
Looking forward to this one always a great atmosphere when the Toon are in town great set of fans should be a cracker hope for a 2-1 home win
I remember that 5 all draw. Best game I've ever seen. Have a soft spot for Newcastle (have friends in the North and always enjoy a trip to the city). Footie wise, i reckon a 2 all draw - very entertaining game...with maybe a 3-2 for home side with a Barton last minute penatly
We kept clean sheets vs Arsenal and Sunderland, and conceded only 1 goal so far. I don't think we'll concede more than 1 against you if we concede at all. I reckon a 1-1 or 1-2 win for us.
Afternoon Toon, keeping a clean sheet against Arsenal and Sunderland ain't nothing to shout about at this moment in time.Having said that i think it will be a very tight game,i think whoever scores first will go on to win the game,be interesting how you respond if you go 1-0 down,no Joey now to rev up your players.Fancy 2-1 to the Superhoops!
Mixed but generally good I would guess. While no one really knows what happened I think a lot of our fans still like and respect him. I'll certainly give him a cheer when you lot come to our place.
I will be backing Wor Joey, but hope Tiote snaps him for old times sake We have sold our allocation, whole upper tier I think it is. I'm coming down, stopping over and quite pleased the ticket prices have been reduced! More beer! I would take a point but I'm quite confident we could win this. You'll stay up, but it's your first game with the new players, they won't gel right away which is why I think we need an early goal. I think as the game goes on you'll start to gel so it would be helpful to have a lead. Looking forward to the trip.
Championship winners 2011 v. Championship winners 2010 puts yet another dimension to this already interesting contest. I'm sure I speak for most Rs when I say that we wish the Toon new ownership asap. Mordashov? The cloud's certainly lifted away from Loftus Road since we got rid of Ecclestone and Briatore.
Its not that bad. Our owner has just pocketed the £35m from the Andy Carroll sale, has stripped the club of its main assets, and is buying cheap, although decent, players from abroad. As well as that, he has got rid of our singing section, a 4000 strong section and has replaced it with a family enclosure, as well as extending the away end in which only 4-5 teams will sell out(Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Sunderland) and hasn't replaced it. He split up the only place in the ground that has an atmosphere for the full 90 minutes. He gets caught on camera stripping to his underwear in a restaurant with the rest of his fat, greedy, deluded Sports Direct employee's. Instead of bringing in a new striker, he brings out a Lingerie line in the Newcastle United shop. He has also replaced the NEWCASTLE UNITED sign on our East Stand, we have heard he is putting identical lettering, but most likely with Sports Direct next to it. Apart from that, he's not that bad.
Interesting take there Badger... but the only good thing that I can see is that the club is still buying quality players regardless of economy rates. That's clearly working for you so far. However, any football fan knows that Toon ain't Toon without a solid number 9. Was wondering how Ashley was going to get that sorted but disappointingly, he hasn't. It's a **** state of affairs tbh and like I say, one we at QPR can empathise with entirely.
This is what pisses me off. Everyone else with a ****e owner gets rid of them eventually and we're always still stuck with this clueless ****er at the helm. I suppose it's comforting to think he'll die at some point.
