Very like Prost actually, exactly who it reminded me of! Watch it before it's deleted... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEjCzeTpHzw
Yes the Ferrari is now a competitive car, but Alonso has been getting the job done in fine form. He's looking stronger than ever imo.
Surely there can be little doubt that Alonso is (so far) the driver of this season? However, I disagree with the idea that he has been driving a second-rate car – certainly for the past few races. What Ferrari have come up with is a damned good, very well-balanced 'all-rounder'; precisely what is needed when the differences in performance across all but the tail-end teams is so tiny. In my opinion, all of Ferrari's real competitors have cars which have a narrower optimal 'window', requiring things to be just right for their car but at the same time not quite so ideal for others. In addition, they appear to be maintaining an advantage in development, with others tending to put most of their eggs in just a few baskets… Ferrari were definitely off the pace for the first two races, but as Alonso himself said at the start of the season, consistency is what will make the difference; and having a car that is right up there, regardless of conditions, is exactly what is required. I believe Ferrari have done this more effectively than any other team. Unfortunately, the other standard factor in the equation of evaluating an F1 car's performance relative to its competitors is almost irrelevant in this case: Massa is clearly far slower over a race distance and so inconsistent! Besides, most of us know that Ferrari do not really want two big guns behind the wheel – and when this is the case, one should really only consider the 'lead' driver as an indication of a car's performance potential…
