I think a key part of Henderson's improvement was the stage early in the season when he played in various different positions. He played DM, RB, CM, RW, Lw and now plays as a more attack CM. I think it build has confidence and skills in different areas of the pitch and playing roles. It also gave every one a chance to see what he is best at. playing LW also made Enrique a better attacking full back. Maybe a few various cameos could help Allen. LW. Allen chase the ball in to the box well and I'm sure can pick out a pass in the box. Maybe it will encourage his forward passing.
Hendo's energy is best saved for the tougher sides. Allen is and was fine against your wigans Its unrealistic to expect the same XI to play at such a high intensity every match.
