I would like to see Eddie Howe given the opportunity. He is young and has shown a clear aptitude for management. He can be supported to develop his very obvious talents. National management is different to club, so start his learning process young and take his passion and turn it into something special. Be brave, be original, be forward thinking and make young coaches take note. I want youth and pasion over so-called pedigree and bullshit. Stop being risk averse, embrace it.
I have wanted Howe as England manager for a while. He's young, has a different approach. He has had success with unfashionable teams. I like the style of football his teams play and I was impressed with him in a documentary about Bournemouth just before they embarked on the first season in the PL. Edit - We need to think long term and let someone like Howe have a sustained period in the hot seat.
Eddie Howe's probably smart enough to turn it down if the FA were desperate enough to offer him the job. I'm afraid that the FA will go into meltdown and appoint Shearer. God help us all.
Not too sure whether or not this corruption makes his position untenable. It was already ****ing untenable. Untenable from the moment in his interview after the Slovakia game when he said that he couldn't tell Rooney where to play. He is no international manager. Better to get rid now than when he fails big time two years down the road.
This isn't really such a big deal. England are so far off winning a major international, that the manager doesn't mean anything at all. The only way we can improve our national team is by limiting our domestic clubs to say, three foreign players on the field at any one time. This isn't ever going to happen, obvs. Someone do a poll. Which is most likely to happen. England win the World cup/Euros. Or Hull City win proper silverware?
Old Wally Winterbottom must be shaking his head at recent events upstairs. Wait till the news about Alladyce breaks.. You know who you are. Big Sam GONE
Yet every time an England manager is sacked there are calls for Redknapp to come in. I don't care either way, as is well known I don't follow England, but I wouldn't pick Redknapp either. Bournemouth are going to end up bottom 3 this season, if Howe is offered the job, he'd be mad not to take it.
I wonder if the Allams are thinking 'if we had stuck with bruce we might have been in for a pay day!!'...
Kaveh Solhekol @SkyKaveh 7h7 hours ago Given list with names of 7 managers who fear they've been stung by Telegraph just like Sam Allardyce. 5 English, 2 ex international managers Ex international managers I'm going with Mark Hughes and Silvan Bilic. Conte ?
Not much mention of some very underhand Telegraph behaviour here.. concocting such an elaborate sting operation in order to get sam fired stinks of very high level involvement to me. Sam was never establishment and it wouldn't do.
Stings don't work if the person isn't dodgy. Why did he or his agent arrange to meet them in the first place?
Exposing a greedy, naive, reckless, disloyal turd who had the biggest football job in this country? The **** ended George Lyall's career back in 77. Bravo DT! Well rid.
