Allams have never made a bid for the KC stadium?

I don't disagree too much with what you've put. On the highlighted bit, as I understand it, Mr Assam asked for an internal inquiry into the incidents by the Council, which he ultimately offered to fund when the Council said it didn't have the time or resources. I suspect the fluid nature of the issue meant it became one in a number of factors, and that together they've brought us to where we are.

I think it could be worth remembering one Cllr was saying it's not for sale, some were talking of discussions, and the leader was suggesting a referendum.

edit, just noticed your bit about posting what you know as the board is anonymous. I've been told a fair amount I can't post on here, because while I may be sort of anonymous, the information could probably show where it came from, which would be disrespectful to those that shared it.

Does anyone know if it was Alam wanted to buy the stadium or the club?

It wouldn't bother if the club bought the stadium with clauses inserted where Alam couldn't split the club and keep the stadium when/if he sold the club.

I'd feel really uneasy if the stadium was just sold to the Alam's.

Do you reckon he remembered his dads advice?

"Never marry a Lincolnshire virgin. If they're not good enough for their family, they're not good enough for ours."

I don't know the answer, but would it make much difference? If he bought it as one, he could still sell it to the other couldn't he?

There is another possible explanation. The man is in his mid-70s. Once he gets hold of the stadium he could mortgage it and pay himself back. Does he think Hull City Tigers are more important than his grandchildren?

What emerges out of all of this, is that what is said by the main parties in this saga cannot just be taken at face value.

It's a coded standoff with both sides determined not to lose face and wanting to discredit the other, like a couple of six year olds squabbling over a ball in the playpen.

The soundbites or statements have therefore to be seen in this context.

The actual truth is difficult to tease out, which is why the issue is even more contentious then if it were between two amicable and transparent parties.

The interests of the taxpayers of Hull and the supporters of Hull City are not even on the radar of the two parties involved.

Factor in self-interested local media who have a vested interest in stoking the fires of the dispute and continuing the fall out, and the mess is complete.

True, and even people with hard facts, still only have one version of the truth.

So it will never be resolved then?

I wonder what would happen, more generally than in specific relation to the Stadium, if Assem Allam slipped his mortal coil in the next few years. Is Ehab a chip off the old block? Will he be more conciliatory ? Will he even be interested in taking the club forward? I cannot see anything changing whilst the good Doctor is still the puppeteer at the KC.

Does anyone have any influence over Assem Allam? His Mrs? His kids?

Did the £100k he gifted to Ed Miliband mean that he can use that 'gift' to exert pressure via London/Labour HQ on the council to be more open to the deal?

I don't think the National Labour Party has anything in common, or any desire to have any association with Hull's isolated and antiquated Socialist Labour Party.

Bet Brady hates Milliband more than he did Thatcher.

What do you think? Apart from Ehab, has his children shown any interest in Hull City? How much interest has Ehab shown lately. If all the money from Egypt is his, don't you think they'll be a little concerned about what's happened to their inheritance? If it isn't don't you think that his wider family will be worried? The only pressure I can see coming from his family, is to cut his losses and get out.

The club could be £100 million in debt if we buy a striker in January with next to no assets. If the council plays ball where is he going to get the money from to develop it. He could borrow it and we'd be £130 million in debt with any income coming in in about 12 to 18 months if he's lucky. Would it be enough to pay the interest on all the debts?

The milk has been split. There is no point in going back.

Yes, I know, you don't have to tell me. If you're not thinking what I'm thinking, sorry, I've misjudged you.

    Fez.
Assem Allam told me himself that he planned to give the club to the fans, if he told me I expect he told others.

I know what happened at the meeting but have been told in confidence and I will not break that. What I have been told also makes sense and fits with what is in the public domain. The person who told me does not post on here or any other board but he is held in high regard. I have no reason to doubt him, but some speculative posts seem to gain ground and they can cause damage.

You may have concerns over the honesty over those in control of the club, but that is only based on what you read isn't it?

Maybe his kids are sick of getting grief about their old man, and are sick of seeing him get it too?

Perhaps they can make him see sense about his stance on the name change?

When he says he has 'no more money', it's not the same as you or I saying it.

He is saying it for the benefit of agents and players and anyone else who cares to listen, so that they know not to be exorbitant in their financial demands.

Have you tried asking for a pay rise recently?

"No money in the budget, times are tough etc" <laugh>

Lies to convince you to downsize your expectations.

They may be sick of Hull City and control it one day.

After this week I suspect the price we have to pay to get decent players has risen substantially. He's run out of money and needs to change the name to get investment from the far east. Bit difficult to sell to ambitious players who may be looking at Swansea and Southampton as alternatives. Even Sunderland and Newcastle United are better placed financially.

I don't think he needs to plead poverty to tell agents and players to look elsewhere if their wage demands are too high.
