I don't believe anyone at the council told Allam he could have the stadium, he just assumed that they'd bend over backwards to get his proposed investment. I also don't believe Allam bought the club with a buyer lined up for it if he got the freehold, even if he had managed to get the freehold cheap/free, it would have been entirely dependant on his development going ahead.
I think you must have been a politician because youve taken this everywhere else but the simple points. You've introduced a mysterious buyer in the background told to you by people unknown who you cant divulge. It's literally impossible to discuss so well done.
The second source was a senior employee of Hull City Tigers Limited at the time and it wasn't Ash Lord.
Absolutely this. I've never read so much drivel in my life as this mystery buyer nonsense. I've let the nonsense run it's course, but, your quite obvious points besides, to believe that Allam would gamble such a huge sum of money (any amount of money) on the strength of collective support, gained through one promise, from a council that so severely rankled him over the Rosedown flat conversions, is just plain barmy. It's fitting that this nonsense thinking comes to light on the Notes thread, as it simply shows just how poor the collective judgement was - influenced by the majority.
If a joint venture is such a good opportunity why aren't keepmoat and Sewell snapping off the councils hand for the deal? 15 years and no development when that was part of the plan. AP couldn't get the council to do anything. Neither could Allam. Roll up for the next mug
The Council told him he couldn't have the freehold before they rejected his Rosedown's planning application.
Really. You introduce something that hadn't happened when he couldn't get the freehold and then say it changes nothing. You are starting to sound like me.
Wouldn't your mindset be set when you've guaranteed your family wealth on the strong promise/nudge/wink/ almost guarantee, and I doubt Allam would do it on the wing, that you'd get the freehold and surrounds to develop? There's no way of getting it back unless you manage to get in the pl and juggle the money of a competitive squad and take back the money owed so you don't lose it? ****ing he'll I wouldn't be sleeping at night with that pressure.
Yes, really, it changes nothing. I take the Allam mindset (look up mindset) to be one of irrational opinion, blame culture and grudge holding. The rights and wrongs of the Rosedown flats needed someone to blame and that could not be themselves. So yes, it changed nothing to do with their need to blame someone else.
The mindset I spoke of is their general one, relevant to all matters, not just the flats. Your assumption on the stadium land promise is just that, an assumption, and I don't believe it has any credibility. Anyone who would take such a huge risk on a deal that cannot be given any form of guarantee would, in my opinion, sleep very well at night, as the incredibly stupid usually sleep well as they are oblivious to the realities. An unintended, backhanded compliment to you, Chazz.
Key point there, if the Allams spent 30 million (when it has been said they could have waited till receivership and got it for a pound) expecting to get Hull City AND all the land only on the word of one councilor they are dafter than everyone (almost) realises.
Maybe Assem Allam did say Brady promised him the freehold simply because he didn't get planning permission for Rosedowns. That's a big assumption on your part though.
I have no doubt at all that there was a buyer lined up for the site. Sports Village: Needs to be an organisation that is looking to develop its sports facilities. That has money to spend and has links to the developer already. I wonder...
