The mysterious buyer offered two prices, one with the freehold and one without. Try and guess why assem Allam didn't sell Hull City without the freehold.
Nobody thought those two things. It was bloody obvious. I remember you telling me four years ago the concil won't wait around forever to develop the area. How's that going? The council have done nothing since it was built. AP was pissed off too he just hid it better.
It was bloody obvious Brady offered Allam the freehold, really. Why did you say yesterday it might have been libel? It wasn't obvious the Council offered a partnership to the posters on CI. You may have known better though. The Council have no balls, I thought they had. We live and learn.
So what exactly did the Allams want from the Council ??? Was it the stadium and all the land around it ??
He can't prove it can he. So he shouldn't say it. But obviously it fits with your scenario. He buys the club cos he knows he's got the freehold . So he can sell it on. Or he buys it cos he knows he's got the freehold as Brady's intimated that, so he can build his sports village. Isn't it obvious he hates the council for a reason. What could that be?? Brady sends his little ****ing terrier geraghty to be as awkward as **** to scupper any deal. Then offer a **** joint venture that no one in their right mind would take. We've still not heard a peep from brady in the last weeks have we? Let's hope the Allams go soon and good luck to whoevers mug enough to buy us
The freehold to the land covered by the lease, plus, depending on who was doing the talking, Walton Street car park and West Park. Other than the land covered by the lease I don't really know what else was involved.
Does this mean he wanted the Stadium, Park ,,Walton St car park etc yes ??? What sort of price was he willing to pay ??
The only area available fully for any development is the sports complex. You can have the freehold on the park and fairground but cannot do very much with it. The stadium is subject to long term lease, so forcing any change is not possible. There are less challenging areas available for development.
I have no idea whether he can prove it, have you? If you spent £30 million expecting to make a quick profit wouldn't you be pissed off if someone reneged on an agreement. Wouldn't you call them liars and cheats? If Brady said we'll discuss the freehold once you've bought the club, but its public land and any deal needs to be agreed by the council, why would Allam see his backside and call them liars and cheats? There are a number of companies that have entered into joint ventures with the Council. Keepmoat and Sewells come to mind. Any one in their right mind would seriously consider a joint venture with the Council. Why do you think Brady hasn't said anything publicly? Why does Colin Inglis have the freedom to say what he wants?
Partnerships with local authorities are fine. SMC having one share and efffectively being in the control of one person was never a good idea.
At that time, like a lot of us, I was all for it. Black&Amber specs? I wore them even in bed. Remember the rows about how Hull fair would have to be relocated, I didn't give much of a ****. My club had been saved (or at least saved from administration). There were complaints that the scrub land alongside 'Windass Way' was the home of an endangered species of Newt, so they couldn't possibly develop that area...(Newts down there now wear full kit every match day, but refuse to attend games, due to the lack of concessions for their little ones). I didn't care what they did with any of it, West Park, Walton st car park/Hull Fair ground etc. 'Sell' it to Assem Allam. But bit by bit, starting with their suggestion of a name change (an absolute abomination to anyone who has an actual soul) and all the absolute spiteful ****e they've come up with since them days, Iv'e seen the Allams for what they are, feel free to fill this space [.....]. So in the beginning, they had my fullest support and admiration. Instant loyalty. They'd saved my club, what's not to like? One thing though. Even in those early days, when there was an interview with Assem Allam on Look North and he said "Football should be like the air, it should be free, it should be £10 and £5", I raised an eyebrow so high it kissed my arse. I don't care that they see us as a business, that's the way all clubs should be run. But have you ever seen a successful business ran like this ****ing dog poo receptacle?
Answering no to the third question is a bit strange. I think its perfectly reasonable for Assem Allam to be upset if he was promised one thing before he bought the club and then was told something totally different after he'd bought it. Inglis is retiring and can say what he wants. Brady is leader and can say what he wants, even if its nothing.
