Yes, I do think the players notice unrest in the stands. Yes, I do think it will distract them. It's hardly common place is it? You hark on about the 70's, that was then, this is now. 1000 years ago the general public had no say in anything. They paid taxes to the nobles and did as they were told. You really think people these days give a **** about not being heard? Oh wait... As for CTWD, they consistently say they are pro Allam, in a tiny little paragraph bunged on the end of the odd article, they consistently make Allam out to be a thick, ignorant, arrogant, deceitful **** in just about every statement they write regarding the man. One sentiment speaks far louder than the other.
The evidence is that, AA has now made a ridiculous interview, which is in direct response to CTWD's actions. I don't ****ing give a **** who started it at this point, anyone that is involved in this mess, anyone that is actively pushing the other side's buttons (and both sides are now guilty of doing so) is culpable imo. This entire board is now a CTWD campaign HQ. No matter how true you think your opinion is, you're only stoking the fire. AA is probably aware of what is being said on here. And if you just showed up on this board, this board would look anti-Allam. Both sides are being as petty as the other. Neither is willing to compromise. As far as I'm concerned neither side has taken the club, the players, the manager and the other fans into consideration in their personal quests. You're incredibly biased so I don't think you'll see any of this. Clearly I was wrong, being set in your ways is not necessarily linked to old age.
I've highlighted the three 'qualities' Allam does seem to display even though CTWD do not make him out to be as such. One thing he isn't is though is thick and that's why this is becoming such a mess. TBH he's only ignorant when it comes to football too. The last two though are becoming more applicable by every hour that goes by.
Where, exactly, did I call him a fluke? I said "making money does not equate to knowledge or wisdom" and I stand by that. I am pretty pissed off by Allam's comments and I wouldn't be surprised if I posted something ridiculous/ott but I don't believe I have. For me, the man is proving himself to be a petty, self-obsessed moron and if thinking so stops me being a decent poster then so be it.
In my view it doesn't matter whether you're pro or anti, you can't honestly condone him making a statement like he has. It's outrageous what he's said in that article.
No denying Allam has been twattish in his comments towards certain supporters, he should have been bigger and risen above it all. But it doesn't take a genius to look back at how the situation unfolded to see who started throwing the first punches. It really grates on me, the CTWD group does so well in everything they do until it comes to talking about Allam. Every time they talk about him they can't help but get a snidely dig in on the mans character. Some may call it a success, ultimately luring the man into making these inane ramblings about supporters, what were seeing is the signs if an impatient man being tested to the furthest stretch of his patience. But I reckon it's completely the wrong way to go about it.
That was stupid, even by your standards. Are you saying players now are more delicate little things and susceptible to someone holding a banner saying that they will support the team which pays their wages until fhey die than they were when there were massed battles going on? If you are correct, which you aren't, then all away fans have to do is hold a banner up amd shout a bit and our players will be so distracted that they will be unable to concentrate and hand victory to the other side. Your 1,000 years ago stuff is more bollox. You are paying your dues to the noble who owns the club. Are you saying you are happy paying and not being heard?
Quite a few posters on here have said that sitting there in silence doesn't mean they are not as good supporters as those who make a noise as the players don't notice anything going on off the field and fans getting behind them. Are they going to admit they were wrong as apparently a few people wrestling with a flag, and not being particularly noisy whilst doing so, certainly making less noise than 20,000 people getting behind the team, supposedly distract the players?
Do you not embarrass yourself when you post this ridiculously stupid ****e? Or are you just so ignorant you wouldn't acknowledge someone hammering rusty nails into your eyeballs?
That's like saying not all terrorists are muslims. A pretty obvious observation but it doesn't mean you can't have money and be smart.
There's a very strong possibility that one of CTWD's angles was to make AA look foolish by baiting him. Of course he is the one saying the words. No one is denying that but it certainly feels like they may feel , with a little help from them , that AA could sabotage his own campaign.
"In an exclusive interview with The Independent on Sunday, Dr Assem Allam said he would not put one more pound into the club if he felt the majority of supporters did not agree with his policies." He is a business man and has made an investment. He will decide what is a majority. If no one comes in for his price then he will declare that a majority remains a "silent majority". Should someone come in to match his asking price he will sell and save face. Business first at all times, and if the business is good business then he will sell. Look at Mike Asley from Newcastle Utd. Put them up for sale when he was being hassled, and he put in more to Newcastle than did Dr Allam. No buyers came in so he did not walk away from the club nor the business.
I actually think it is you that needs to calm down. "back a wolf into a corner" All we have asked is that he leave the name alone. If this is a war it is of his own making. Every CTWD statement I have read has been very sensible and always states their appreciation of what he has done for the club. He will take offense at anyone who disagrees with him about anything. I think it is rather the fans that are backed into a corner. I am law abiding, I like to think I am a nice person and a sensible person who holds down a decent job and has brought up a family, as far from a hooligan as you could get yet that is what he is calling me. He is also telling me I Can die because I don't want him to change the name. He is trying to blackmail me into silence by saying I affect the players. There are thousands of fans just like me, are we all to stop singing anything with City in it just so as not to offend him. He just doesn't get it. I wrote to him last week, just a polite little letter explaining that I did not want my money back but would still like to support the team by going to the game. I felt so strongly that he was labeling me as "pro name change" because I turned up at the game and didn't ask for my money back. He is just playing games with decent people and insulting us all.
