I expect we'll be cut well adrift by January, what with our December fixture list. Any signings will come too late but for a vast, and I mean VAST, upturn in quality, fight and fortune. I'm resigned to relegation, even though I have said this for the past 3 seasons, however we totally stink out the Premier League, so its about time really. As a club, from the chairman to the players, we just dont deserve to be there! Feeling quite calm about the prospect actually. Dont get me wrong, I care and will be gutted, but supporting SAFC in the Premier League is ****ing awful. Relegation will hopefully be a blessed relief.
- I m a newish poster & bit miffed at emotional negativity about today - pluses outfield defence , ....... no others - little creativity or many goal scoring chances - Pants ..distribution appalling but Soutampton are a good team and if not for a very dubious penalty - 0-0 game
nee bother, i can see how my comment might have sounded like a town supporter rubbing noses in. my comment was in reference to the fact that monty very, very rarely responds to anybody. tonight he has.
But dark ones will be even MORE pretentious - we'll just leave it up to BSA - not panic or be too gloomy we are on the mackem rollercoaster - rapid highs followed by equally rapid long lows - challenging and not boring
i find getting beat virtually every week, and the manner of our defeats, incredibly boring. I think thats why I have an air of calmness and inevitability over the whole situation. Another defeat? Oh well....hey hooooooo! I'm not as worked up as much as what I used to be. Maybe a spell in the Championship, and our team being represented by players who are desperate for a crack at the Premier League, and not by players who brush it off as being par for the course, might give me some of my passion back.
You bitter little weasel, I was trying to cheer you up! You're not a real fan anyway, you spend your days drinking puddle water through straws and getting angry at the face in the water. Stick to sniffing glue and putting pickled onions in your arse.
Part of the problem I think, that this is how the players feel. Play, lose, turn up next week, lose, get paid anyway, repeat.
Can't disagree with anything here - football etc was much better, exciting and different in Championship - being more successful BUT relentless media pressure re promotion & the premier coverage wears you down as fans and club on a massive scale -ignore it and the club becomes almost instituionalised in the second level -as emotional passionate fans not good place tobe - look at Leeds , Sheffield clubs , Wolves - not good . We just need to strive for consolidation imo - but ....... what is best ?????
Also Pants does not exude confidence to defence - so hesitant in distribution & I think his own form - punching shots away when a confident catch would have done - not too good. Pants rant over - Result : Marcus fault for gigging in Scotland
Pants is literally like the last player I thought you guys would be singling out this morning. He is going to earn you points in games where you deserve nothing, were it not for M'vila's rush of blood......yesterday would have been a good example.
When do keepers ever catch the ball these days? Pants is still the man for the job for me. Imo, he's not the issue, it's the guys in front of him making his life so hard at the minute that's the issue!
