Don’t bother me, crack on, the law is for your benefit, BTW for many years I chose not to, I had a Good reason and an exemption certificate to back me up edit sorry RRTC2 , I answered before I saw your post.
The only reason I had was not on medical grounds but past experience (in the late 70s) when caught up in an accident when the car turned over.. two of us able to get out quickly (through the popped back window).. I know by NOT wearing a seatbelt we were able to get out safely.. since then I rarely wear one but understand if I get caught I am breaking the law.. !
I don’t have an issue with you choosing not to wear one, its your choice, obviously if your caught you’ll be fined. it’s a law that’s based on statistics, whilst in your case not wearing one may have saved you, statistically your more likely to be saved from injury by wearing one.
My point was, that I know if I'm breaking the law and I get caught I expect to be punished....As should the protesters.....it's why it's there whether we like them or not.....otherwise what's the point in law and order!
I can promise you that statically you were very, very lucky that time. The chances are that next time you won’t get another chance! You would never get me into any vehicle without wearing one!
Old is gold but I think I might look 3 months but I blame the Stella in my condition, I am sat in the Wateringhole in Perranporth..
Not Cornwall, but I’ve just got back from a family beach holiday in Weymouth - we hit the jackpot with the weather. It’s honestly the first UK based holiday (more than a long weekend) I’ve had for about 30 years. Loved it. Really enjoyed seeing the (step) grandkids enjoying themselves on the beach. Very nostalgic.
Going down to Exmouth on Friday for the 4th week running. With Mrs RP in a hotel, next was a half term break with the grandchildren at Sandy Bay, a cycling tour from Exmouth last week and Sandy Bay this Friday again with the grandchildren. 4 weeks and not a drop of rain. R&W - who needs Gibraltar ?
We hadn't been to Weymouth in donkeys years, but sometime around October 2020, when the Gestapo had let us out of lockdown for a few days, I drove down to Weymouth for the day. This was when they had several cruise liners anchored off of Weymouth. We had a great day, with amazing Fish & Chips on the front, then we drove out to Portland Bill. It was so good, we did it again last year. Weymouth still has one of the nicest beaches for all ages. Seaweed aside at present. Lots of childhood memories of it as a kid, including the Wild Mouse ride at the funfair.
a few good showers, 5mm in my bucket in the garden from the 24 hours up to 9pm last night .................
