A fully fit Wes Brown would be an Englad regular. He has proven in the short time he's been back just how good he is
He might be good, but, personally & I know it's contraversial, I think given how many times he gets himself sent off & now an own goal, admittedly only one, he's on the take!, sorry if I'v offended any one, it's not the intention!
Come on horsley - I have not seen him "get himself sent off" except for after the Newcastle game - where, TBH, I think he was trying to talk the ref into giving him another yellow card which would have left him with a one match ban instead of 2!! How many times has he got himself sent off this season?? 0 He GOT sent off for a one footed, along the floor tackle which was a foul but no more. And not half as bad as at least 50 other fouls I saw the same weekend. I could go on but can;t really be bothered - I think it's crazy to even suggest such a thing
I've always said he is a good player, but one we cant rely on cause he is too often injured or suspended. If he can get through the rest of this season without suspension or injury, then I'll be happy
I'm a big fan of both Colback and Catts, in fact they are probably my two favourite players, but in terms of who is better at their best Catts is the clear winner. Colback can't affect a game like Cattermole can, he isn't as strong or as much as a leader figure as catts, and catts is MUCH more ambitious with his passing. He played a lovely ball to Giacherrini last night to start our first goal. I would have both of them in my team next to Ki in a midfield three with Catts sitting and starting attacks like he did last night.
That can't be right - according to most of the anti-cattermole brigade he misplaced all of his passes (Perfectly displayed by people saying "He gave the ball away loads but completely ignoring that fact that he played a large number of long passes accurately!)
I will throw my hands up and state I didn't think Cattermole had a future with us but he has been awesome these last few weeks, but I need the rest of the season at this level without a sending off to be a fully converted member of the choir, he owes us at least a half season of form for all the let downs.
a load of his booking are not really deserved when you see what some other teams and players get away with. all this reputation bollocks shouldnt count, the ref should be unbiased and not judge a player by his previous conduct. you cant really blame him for the injuries either, he has been rushed back by both bruce and mon when not fit and got injured again. i dont see how you can blame him for that
Who dislikes Cattermole like? I wanted Cattermole to start against Chelsea & Spurs because he is better than Gardner & Larsson. you should start reading my comments some time. It's funny when Cattermole gets sent off people like you are not around & let's talk about last night. Cattermole was rubbish & when Ki & Borini came on he started to play well so **** knows why Sky give Cattermole MOTM. Brown was our best player before Ki & Borini came on. if it wasn't for the subs we would of been out of the cup & thats as simple as that. Cattermole passing is better than Colbacks what are you smoking pal? & Cattermole has a better football brain you are a mad man.
Should I do a search on your old username and find the constant barracking of him. You make a ****wit of yourself all the time. Aye Colback can pass a ball 3 yards sideways or backwards. Can't read a game like Cattermole, can't tackle as well. Has never had an 80%pass rate against a top side. But other than that he's miles better than Cattermole. Totally forgetful of your previous posts. I'll fish one out tomorrow and quote it on here. People like me have backed Cattermole from day one and I never disappear (also never have to change user names due to getting banned). He got sent off against hull. Have a look at my posts about him. Never hid once. Cattermole was excellent all night last night. Just idiots like you can't eat the humble pie and will never admit when they're wrong. Oh that's right, according to you you're never wrong
I don't dislike Cattermole but I will never rate him as a footballer & in the long run Gus will not to. the only reason I would play him is because Gardner & Larsson are rubbish. the sooner we get better players cattermole will be long gone & I can't ****ing wait to see the look on your faces. If you think Cattermole reads the game better than Colback then you are clueless but it is your opinion tho. Colback hasn't had a pass rate over 80% in a top game you say? what was Colback pass rate against Newcastle & Man city then? Plus, you go on about Colback doing 3 yard passes but **** me Cattermole does more & why did you think Cattermole got sent off against Hull for? I tell you why to, he give away silly passes then lost his head. do you see Colback doing that? no you don't. If you think Cattermole was excellent all game then you must have man love for Cattermole. Ki & Borini changed the game & Brown saved us loads of times.
Tell me then - before Ki and Borini came on, Scheurrler (SP?) was running with the ball after JOS had gone on an attacking run. Who read what was happening and stopped it happening?? Wasn't Wes brown. Who read the full backs moving up the pitch?? Catts. Who outpassed Frank Lampard in a game? Not Colback. Who was MOTM against City? Was it Colback? Nope it was WES BROWN. So unless theres a conspiracy of some sort against Colback (I like Colback - although he's been poor his last couple of games - I just think Cattermole is a better all round player) You tell me what Colback's pass rate against City was - I have no idea - mainly because Sky didn;t think to advertise how well he played as he wasn't as influential on the game as Cattermole was the other night. You're clueless - seem to know very little about football and guess you only watched the game on telly By the way, saying "That's your opinion" then calling someone clueless for it is hypocritical as you are not allowing me to have my opinion by definition.
I don't recall anybody professing hatred or anything similar in tone about Catts. I've always liked his positive aggressive attitude and wish he could be a premanent fixture in midfield. If(!!!)... he could get shed the red mist that apparently blinds him as he goes into tackle! He was awesome the other night but I'm still worried he's just too great a liability. Every player has too be 100% focussed for 90+ minutes for EVERY game from now to the end of the season. No more finishing games with 10 men!!! We just dont have that luxury anymore! If he can stop with the red card-red mist problem then I'd happily retract my view that we need to get rid of him.
Don't get the debate, the way I saw it is that he was ****e like the rest of the midfield until Ki came on. Ki's calmness and composure is infectious so everyone picked up a level including Catts. Simple fact is you can't play this philosophy pairing anybody in the middle of the park with Craig ****ing Gardner. He can't pass, he can't keep the ball, he doesn't make himself available for the pass and he was constantly out of position, Catts has a job to protect the defence first and foremost, with gardner next to him you can't expect anymore from Catts. If gardner is the answer I don't know what the question is but keep playing the knacker we could well be asking from the championship.
Who, if played in central midfield, will ensure Sunderland don't retain premier league status next season? Gardner should've been brought on in the 123rd minute - i.e. just before the penalties. He is very very good at them so I'd have him for them
There we go! Spot on mate, we had a spare sub until late extra time. We shouldn't complain, we're through. He's just ****ing ****e
Big deal he read the game well when Schurrle had the ball but he didn't read the game well when Januzaj ran behind him & scored did he. players like Cattermole & Colback have better passing stats than Lampard because Lampard goes for more harder passes. So, if Sky says your MOTM then you must be MOTH Colback & Brown were the best players against Man city & in my eyes Colback was defo MOTM against Newcastle. sorry Sky said Altidore was MOTM so it must be true then . I haven't check the stats because I can't be ass but I put my life on it Colback would of got over 80% pass rate. I only watch the game on the telly heard it all now.
