No me duck ... think Gary Lineker or Emile Heskey ... Nottingham and Derby accents are similar but stronger but absolutely nothing like the Brummies <laugh>

It's odd to describe Beckham as a winger but seeing as he played wide right in a 4 4 2 he probably is, although technically he wasn't because, as has been said, he didn't go round men, he delivered balls in from wide.

Whatever he was, he was a superb passer, crosser and taker of deadballs. Best free kick taker of the Prem era surely?

He was a great player for United and had a massive influence, I love the guy dearly, but even then he wouldn't get into my own personal all time XI.

It's Ronaldo keeping him out mind. Just Ronaldo. And if people are serious that he never played his best in the PL then they weren't paying attention.

Whats the difference between a Brummie and a Boeing 737?

The 737 stops whining when it gets to Spain ...<rofl>

... some great points ... one of the best wingers I saw was John Robrertson at Forest ... didn't quite go psat players but could always work enough room to get a usually superb cross in ...

...as to free kick takers ... the most impressive might perhaps be Dimitri Payet - even if his stay was short lived - never seen anyone make the ball move like he can ... the one against Palace was amazing ... as it flies so high over the wall some Palace players appear to be almost amused ... until it somehow dips down and into the top corner.

Nothing to do with Beckham (as he was an exceptional winger anyway) but that is one of the most ridiculous things ever said on here. And it pains me to say it bro.

What you've just said is Zidane wasnt a good midfielder! <laugh>

I'll fix it for you... you can't be a decent midfielder without having a footballing brain.

    Messi? ...

...mind you... I once saw Zidane put in a rather impressive block on an Italian defender ... Beckham couldn't have done that ... too much of a wuss <whistle>

Zidane's "block" would have messed up Beckham's hairdo. No chance.

No Trebs, midfielders need to be able to tackle. Some might be **** at it and manage to carve out careers regardless due to other exceptional qualities, but that does not mean it is not in their job description.

Indeed, Scholes couldn't stop a pig in a passage but he was way decent as a midfielder.

Agreed. He had one great season so his inclusion for that should see Suarez included for similar (dragged a 7th/8th placed team to the brink of a title!

Cutting out the lines and applying n pressure at the right time is just as effective as tackling

    Figure of speech ffs.

Give it up Trebs, just because I said Ronaldo doesn't belong in the all time PL XI ;)

    One great season?

He scored a goal more or less every other game from the wing and won the league three times, Suarez won **** all.
