I gave adel too much credit about his time in the prem. He probably was MoM just 1 (foolham match at home) out of 38 matches.
Everyone seems to be bemoaning our lack of creativity in the pre-season friendlies. Any suggestions how we will have any creativity without Taarabt?
I cant think of anyone with Tarrabts ability to create opportunity (and excite the crowd) that would be available for championship football.
None from me either mate. Maybe we will have to start playing AS A TEAM and creating chances for each other? Works for other better and worse teams than us. Not every team needs a superstar mate. He was great when he felt like it in the lower league but that sytem really did hamper us when we got promoted. IMHO Lets see what Harry has up his sleeve.? I havent seen any of the pre season so cant comment, but based on last years pre season its obvious that it means F-all when we start in the league. Hopinh 'Arry can get someone to replace the "good things" that AT did without having to put up with the sh**e id happily take Andros again.?
Chelsea away, played out of position he was magnificent Players with more mobility would help. If our attackers made some runs into space Faurlin and maybe Jenas could actually pass forwards. I don't see Ephraim as the answer, but he did used to run into space; likewise Routledge did generally give an option. Neither of those are outstanding players, we should be able to find similar.
What would you get if you included the previous season in the prem...be struggling to make 10 i reckon.?
We arent in the PL, we are in the NPC where he was MOTM more than 50% of the time and the best player in the league.
I know that mate, just expanding on Igors point. He could probably be MOM 50% of the time again if he didn't think he was too good for us. When we first got him he was flawed but he was hungry and enjoyed playing. Don't remember the last time I saw him play with a smile in a game ? We are in the NPC and he is at his correct level again... Remember my "big fish in a small pond" comment 2 seasons ago mate?.
Its difficult to win matches single handedly when you get absolutely no support and maybe 8 other players not even caring if they won or not. Half the time it was only the old NPC team doing anything.
I don't disagree with any of that mate, but the complete lack of any interest from ANY other clubs and his tantrums and some of his wastefull play meant that he just didn't live up to his billing. I still don't doubt his ability but there was so much more that made him a failure besides his lack of achievement. One thing is for sure though, as someone else said...If he does leave then we may as well shut this board down
It will implode if he does leave. Especially if Redknapp goes soon after. Too often he was the only reason why it was worth bothering to go to games. The reason why his play is "wasteful" is because he is the only one whos brave enough to try things and create chances. He was right at the top in chances created in the PL but it wasnt his fault the other players were too useless to take them. Id rather watch him than Granero with his endless 5 yard passes that go nowhere.
Against West Ham at home ... brilliant Away to West Brom again brilliant If you look back at the games then he has been good in most. Queens couldn't see that far too stubborn in fact made a statement that he hasn't cut it in the premier league .. apart from scoring 3 out the best ten goals scored all season: I also believe he has been high in the creative stats Fulham, West Ham and West Brom. If he goes and who can blame him then I hope he lights up France as he will ... he could rip the champion league to bits at Marseille ... if i was him i would go as a lot of QPR simply have no idea what a talent we have and how lucky we have been ... If he goes I agree the club may implode because sooner or later the majority on here will have to understand we have a useless manager surviving on media **** as food
He only started 25 league matches...... Give me long enough and I'll rule the other 23 out for some reason or another
This, this, this, this, this, but especially the bit in bold I still believe it is in Adel's best interests to leave though.
In a nutshell. Players like him are why I love football. He drives me round the bend, but then I revisit the highlights clips from even last season and think 'ok, you're forgiven'. It seems rare to get the full package - the sublime skills and a thoroughly professional attitude, which is exactly why Messi and Ronaldo are streets ahead of the rest. Perhaps some time in a different setting will get Adel to realise he only has one chance at this, I would hate him to end up in the 'chucked it all away' bracket.
SB...football is so much more than being able to trap a ball or nutmeg someone. Players I know used to pick a player in training & have a competition who could nuts him the most. The ability to kick a ball is only 40% when it comes to mental awareness, temperament, desire, belief, and buying into a team ethic. Im sure we could all go to the local park and watch a person trap a 50 yrd ball or nuts someone. its the difference between Messi, Ronaldo, Rooney and someone like Adel. He has the physical ability but not the mental capacity. Plenty of players with ability..success takes a lot more !
Can't help but think warnock's biggest mistake was not selling him when you got promoted. You'd have got 2 or 3 times his value now.
