Did you miss this at 10.17 this morning Quel. Didnt have time to write up the whys and wherefores as people are clamping down at work. Couldnt get on at all yesterday morning and annoyingly had an easy 7-1 winner to share and even more annoyingly couldnt get a bet on myself. At this rate I better go sick next week!!!
Yes i did mate. I put up a new daily thread around 10 or 11.30 because I thought it was odd that no one had done one. Seconds later Nass told me about this thread so I copied and pasted over my post. I think Ron deleted the thread. Annoyingly I rated that as a pretty dreadful bumper when I looked at it last night so can't decide if we've seen a really good prospect or just the best of a bad bunch. Anyway, what happened to Rebel Melody?????? 'GO SICK!' Does this mean you've not taken Cheltenham off work? I work from home 80% of the time and even I've taken it off just in case some idiot arranges a conference call when the racing's on!
Just watched that ride of Paddy Brennan's on Current Climate - amazing stuff hope he got a hefty bonus from connections
It was a brilliant ride Oddy. Funny thing about that ride is that someone definitely knew it was going to run well (if that run can be described asa good one). I don't bet with Stan James, however, I noticed at around 11am they were best price on every horse in that race bar the winner and he attracted lot of cash near the off to start around 10/3. They were obviously in the know.
Well done on the bumper today Quel, I was just looking at the big mares bumper on Saturday at Sandown - some very nice types in it, I particularly like Alan King's Call Me A Star - got no sort of run up the home straight at Kempton last time when they bunched up and made giant strides to just get beaten a neck by Midnight Minx (who reopposes). Right - pub time
Nope, sadly I shall be working every minute of Cheltenham. I have to decide between racing and golf for my limited holiday! This year its a week in Turkey, a very long weekend at Chepstow St Pierre and days at The Grove, Bearwood Lakes, Worplesdon and West Sussex. Thats eleven days of golf so sadly I will not see a single minute of Cheltenham live :-( Rebel Melody was backed as I was told it would be but turned out a dud sadly! I hope Puffin Billy made up for it!
Honeyball tweeted yesterday that he's got three decent mares in that. Don't know what runs yet. It was too difficult for me to work out that far in advance.
Certainly did Stick - didn't back Rebel Melody as didn't see your post till after i'd had a bet and i'd already noticed the eventual winners market move so just left it alone. That's a very tough decision to make. Golf for eleven days or 4 days of Chelt's. I couldn't miss Cheltenham though.
Great last few days starting off with ROYAL NATIVE at Lingfield (23/02) he finished 2nd beaten a head, this was a very good introduction and it showed us he has a great deal of potential. ALPANCHO ran a cracker at Sandown (24/02) in finishing 2nd, he is a huge horse and after this run you would have to say he has a big future especially once sent chasing. TARADREWE ran about five minutes later and won at Warwick on her racecourse debut (18 ran), she would rate as a decent mare and could join ELEVEN FIFTY NINE and MIDNIGHT MINX in the Sandown mares listed race on the 10th March. Interestingly Aiden Coleman gets the leg up on TARADREWE and recent trends make that a very positive booking!
It's becoming a really exciting partnership isn't it. Aiden's a good jockey. It'll be interesting what happens in the market during the day.
Interesting stat for tomorrows Carlisle bumper tomorrow Quel. William Amos is 2 from 6 in Carlisle bumpers at a profit of £101.........!!!!
