Apparently that's why Liverpool got rid in the first place, his wage demands being to high for his position at the time. It may well be different now but with all the press seemingly thinking it was a nailed on deal I'm surprised he's still at Blackpool today.

It's a strange one Taff, that's for sure.

Ince certainly did refuse the contract Liverpool offered him to stay, but there must have been more to it than just that. Don't understand if Ince's wage demands were too rich for Liverpool, why he'd choose go to Blackpool who probably wouldn't have offered him anything like that in the Championship.

Strange that Liverpool let him leave out of contract for a mere pittance of a compensation fee from Blackpool, and now 18 months later want to buy him back for £7M. Also not sure how the sell on clause they had would impact on the fee they're offering. Would they deduct that from the £7M or is it included?

At the time, the Liverpool official supporter's site posted this.

"Ince took a step closer to moving to Bloomfield Road this weekend. Liverpool have agreed in principle to allow Ince to move, and the player will discuss personal terms with the Tangerines once a compensation fee has been agreed. Suffice to say that, as promising as he may be, the 19-year-old will not be missed at Anfield and will be much better for dropping down a division in order to progress as a player."

Apparently so my source claims (always wanted to say that) Ince wanted 20k per week from Liverpool and they would onlg go as far as 16k per week. Seems a hell of a lot for a player who had no first team experience. So how much are Blackpool paying him!
I would imagine Blackpool would try and add it onto the price (crazy methinks) as they will have to pay more back to Liverpool in percentage terms. Liverpool would obviously go for receivng the whole 35% irrespective of the final transfer fee. I reckon there would be pretty complex calualtions going on to find an agreement all round. Personally I'm not so sure Liverpool will take him back.
