Haven't seen tonight's game but (as I seem to mention quite regularly) I have the dubious honour of getting to see West Ham quite a lot (when Covid isn't preventing people from entering grounds). Rice is usually superb. I think I've only ever seen him give the ball away once. His passing is always accurate. He's strong. He can go past people. He's good in the tackle. I think he's a fantastic player. Its shame to hear he's played poorly for England.

 

He was marginally better second half, perhaps him and henderson in the same team isn't a good combo. Too similar, international footy is slow enough without playing 2 'safe' midfielders.

 

How the hell did we win that, get your mortgage on us winning the whole thing if our luck holds our like it did tonight.

Refs aren't held to account the same way players are. Maguire will be hung, drawn and quartered and the ref (think they mentioned he is very inexperienced, only 2 years on FIFA's list) will go back to the day job. Refs should be interviewed and grilled same as players and managers after the match.
