i had an argument with someone yesterday who belittled this achievement. apparently, anyone can 'go cycling'. what an absolutely incredible achievement for british cycling. i feel we could go on to dominate the sport for many years to come. chris froome already looks set to win it some time soon.
Lets not lose sight of the commitment and dedication here; 2127miles on a bike in 3 weeks up mountains that you can barely drive a car up, average speed 31 mph, and have they gone on holiday for a rest, have they buggery, they came back to England the next day to 'train' for the olympics, that my friends puts our premiership internationals to shame. Most of those louts are still on holiday because they played or didn't in some cases 4 games of football at the Euro's. Blimey they must be exhausted, all that staying in the best hotels with the best food and health care, and then getting a month off, AND THEY STILL AREN'T BACK AT THEIR CLUBS FOR PRE SEASON TRAINING, according to Sir Alex of Red nose!!!!!!! Load of pampered tossers!!!!!!! Wiggins, Cav, etc, you are awsome!!!!!!!!!! ILD OTBC
Well I guess some people are ill-informed Anyone can ride a bike, but can they hurtle down a mountain with hairpin bends, use incredible bike handling skills, I think not. Massive achievement
All hail Wiggins. He's from a solid QPR family. His old mum is a Loftus Road season ticket holder. U RRRRRRRRRRRRRssssssss
Whoa, steady on.... Actually, you're right, I'm still reeling from that performance, and his old mum deserves her mention from the podium. Bless her, and bless Wiggo for the last three weeks.
I don't want to piss on your pansy's mate, I have the highest regard for what Wiggins has achieved, and will never say anything to knock that, but, A SOLID QPR family??????? Is this the same SOLID FAMILY who's father used to smuggle drugs in baby Bradley's nappys???? Not what we in Norfolk would call a SOLID FAMILY situation!!! ILD OTBC
Hope his achievements will drum up a little more interest in the Tour of Britain in September. Particularly looking forward to Stage One which starts in Ip....Ip.... (sorry, can't say the word) and takes in loads of Norfolk towns and villages, ending up (after going past my front door!) at the Showground in Easton.
I went to the Sandringham leg last year, it was incredible how many people turned out, loads going on there for everyone. Sat in the Sun with a pint after the race and listened to Norwich beating Bolton......perfect! ILD OTBC
Cycling had taken over as the nations favourite participation sport/pastime before this years tour so I would imagine it will be growing even more now. I remember offices and factories being full of cycle sheds rather than car parks years ago. Lets hope it will inspire more people to cycle to work particularly with the Ride2Work scheme continuing. There is never going to be a solution to the urban transport system so hopefully people will take notice. To celebrate Bradders achievement I treated myself to a new bike at the weekend. A nice offroader that I can ride alongside my missus on her horse. And by Sunday night I had got a boil on my arse! Have to swap saddles!
Mrs Delia always says, I'm her pain in the arse! How long were you on the bike to get a boil Redruth? Or have you just got a tender little botty? ILD OTBC
Just an afternoon in the saddle and then all hell breaks loose on the posterior. Mind you the I forgot to wear the proper shorts. I'm not a fan of the old reinforced gusset. I went for a 10 mile run with a friend of ours a couple of weeks ago and wore the wrong under shorts, in fact I'd put cycling ones on and after two miles my bollocks were chafed to smithereens.
