It's not easy to cheer on a team you spend all year hoping to see beaten. I'm a bit like Shergar, it's not so much seeing a rival do well, more knowing their fans will be full of it. I think BM2 and those who remember always cheering other English teams along, come from an era (like me) when the stakes were not so high, and especially the media wasn't so rabid. Were now conditioned to brag when we win , blame someone else when we lose, and above all , not take responsibility for our actions. Sportsmanship has taken a hit I think, with the rise of 24hrs a day replays and "expert" analysts. This year I will be cheering on Atletico, who have done incredibly well to reach the finals.
Worthy finalists and would be great to see them win it.
Equally much as I dislike the slimeball, Ronaldo has dominated CL this year like no other and deserves to win it too. Since his move to Real he has stepped up a level and 'deserves' a CL medal this season..
We go again
