Jimmy Seed? His connection to Charlton Athletic goes back to March 1920, when the 24 year old Seed was in the Spurs Reserve team who played Charlton at Floyd Road - before the ground was christened The Valley... The Addicks were still an Amateur team at the time, not turning professional until the Summer of that year. According to newspaper accounts many players, including Seed, had a sing-song around a piano at the Club's headquarters after the game. The ground had only been open a few months, so CAFC headquarters might still have been the Royal Oak on Charlton Lane. Other match reports for this season can be found back on page 6.
